Came down to watch the starts this morning, just awesome, especially with the 2 helicopters.
My prize for best noise goes to Flyin Falcon.
Was listening in on the VHF, huge admiration to the gentleman running it all, very cool, calm and collected.
Cant wait to see all the pictures.
Hope the return from Torquay goes well.

There was a helicopter filming at Cowes, anyone know whose footage it is, and if it will be available for everyone's viewing ?

There were three (at least) separate groups looking to have the race filmed by heli yesterday. In the past two weeks each became aware of the other and they decided to join forces and do it together. As a result, that heli you saw was shooting 4k video plus photographs. We (Venture) were one of the three and we'll be making the content available free to the teams in the next week or two. We'll make it publicly available also around the same time.

Must say we had a great day watching on Sunday (apart from the 45 minute wait for Breaki in the Fountain) Saw the start from Egypt point on a glorious sunny day with many others. Had a couple of beers in the Anchor and a great lunch in Murrys while waiting for the boats to return.
Thought the organisation from a spectators point of view was good.
Well done to Dorian and his team for putting on a great event in difficult times.
PS (a little loop around the solent before they head of would be nice just like the old days oh and a small trailer bar with 3 bar stools in the pit area)

Just learned of a lovely little element from yesterday. Most of you will know how serious things were with young Simon Dredge a few months ago. Yesterday he was on the start boat and he was the one who dropped the green flag to send them all on their way. Lovely touch.
Also hadn't realised that Vector Martini beat Buzzi's overall racetime record from a few years back.
