dear ciao
a couple of points of clarification( APOLOGIES FOR REPETITION)
- I gave an undertaking that we would do our damndest to avoid a conflict with rb08, hasn't been possible due to the ecomomic requirements of our hosts to stage our races at times that guarantee a measurable economic impact...ie extend the season....no point them spending 000.000's of euros at a time when the hotels are full
could I have broken the news better?, yes, hands up, but we were under intense time pressure juggling dates, venues , teams , sponsors, media et al , and we had a helluva lot of options to corral into a calender over a very short period and frankly involving the rbo8 guys in the process wouldn't have helped us ...however i respect and understand you need to vent spleen.
BUT...We are a business....Tunisia could end up being a serious and long term partner, and we need to respect their enthusiasm and willingness to use powerboat racing as a global marketing platform.
In my short time in this sport I'v'e found that there are no fast bucks, they are all hard to win and harder to keep.
RE the question of who's running the event...we are. we are taking the commercial risk and will decide pricing tho' it is in conjunction with the BPRC whose role as owner of the event, plus their knowledge of the spirit we will acknowledge and respect.

I know Mike and his team are upset. What were forgetting is the P1teams that wanted to do both are probably more Pi---d off than the rest of us.
Were these a will theres away..... if you have enough money.

Right - Back to the race and the point of this thread - will single engined RIBs be allowed to take part as in previous years? Will there also be a round the island basic race for the boats that aren't suitable for CTC?
The sooner that everyone knows how much it'll be - the sooner they can bitch about that!

ctc eligibility and rules
short answer is that it will be open to all powerboats who can make safely there and back...in fact we'd like to see it as big as possible,
rules, regs, fees, timings etc etc al being worked on as we speak and we'll announce them ASAP
In addition to the mails I've had expressing interest from this group we've had our first declared international runner , an Italian P1 team.
