Day 1, 4 boats of 14 crossed the finish.
Bladerunner ran out of fuel
Cookee broke his saddle so is riding bareback again - he prefers it that way anyway, it's more sensitive.
Finish line with an unmarked reef 100yds after the finish.
All the UK teams had all their tools stolen en route.

But no protests because the boats float, or they had the wrong flag .. so not all bad
I assume it was rough then?

Even the "pretend rib" appears to have been allowed to race.

Yeh, heaven forbid anyone should be allowed to build a raceboat and then race it.

I heard on Fibnet that the Greeks had won it and all the British boats broke. So who's got it right?
PS Hey moderator! How about splitting this thread?

got third in the f3 and f4, brilliant event. Won the Rib world cup. pics to follow.
spent a whole 10 days doing my two favourate past times.......boating and drinking, and did we drink.
Day one was quite flat and we had a great race with richard, (3 secs between us), but my god... day 2 and 3 made ramsgate look like a ski lake. day four sent us in the lee of the main land allowing for a slightly faste race, (we got first).
Gordon got 2nd, he flew in the rough, but almost lost his consol to the red sea.

Good to see the Greek giving his expert opinion on Cookee's boat building skills.....

 ....
IMHO and in the opinion of others
1. Pascoe boats (or at least those that were racing) were not built for such rough seas. Same applies for Cookees boat.
