It was a great day...... as TD says Pig was good, Mulled Wine Great (for medicinal purposes you understand - ive not been well!)

Great to See Splitpin (Thanks for travelling all the way from Dartford)

BluFins Daughter started the day off well by turning the Playgroup "Savoury" by bringing down her homemade quiche mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Makes a welcome change from cakes

Went out for the first time in BluFins Cat...... OMG ("Oh my God" for the older members of this forum) 94.3mph the fastest I’ve ever been in a boat and a fifteen year old wooden boat at that - what a testament to John's skill at refurbishing her

Hope a lot of money was raised for the Charity...

Thanks again Gill, Mark and the Team at Drivers for a great day.....

nice day out, good to see so many faces.

Not a bad run out for Pash & I, around 35 stone of british beef onboard , hate to think what our momentium would have been.

Middle Fin had a great day to & was well chuffed the quiche was a success. She had her first run out in Midas, she really enjoyed it (81.1mph). She had ikle drive of it too a little bit fish tailing but not to bad.

Iron Man of the day award goes to barry (total insanity) - Respect "all the way round the island"

Have to agree about Barry in his 18 foot boss . We done RB8 without stuffing the boat once on Sat put the bow in twice on the far side of the island. Had the Mrs on board aswell.

Not sure how many went round shame about the time keeper.
Anyone know the exact mileage? and what 52 mins equats to in mph

Deans new boat looks fab to going to turn some heads on the solent next year.

Thanks for the food and Mulled wine went down a treat

Timekeeper tried for two days to get the timekeeping boat in the water. The reserve boat also would not start. Should have gone to the football, but that did not work out well either.

The official course distance is 57 Statute miles. 52 minutes gives you 66 mph.

That is roughly the 1996 Pete Little Class 3 2 litre monohull record, and more or less the same time as the 1996 Johnson Fuller / Pdidddy Davis Touring class record.

The 30 to 50 foot unlimited UIM world record ( the closest class for your boat ) for RTI is 75mph set in 2000.

And that one will be hard to beat. Class 1 boat and perfect conditions i believe he had to slow down to 90 past Portsmouth.

I believe John Puddifoot has the rib record anyone know what rib he was in

Can we at Drivers say a very big thank you to all those who took part in boating and pig eating on Saturday.

You all managed to raise £515 for the Childrens Trust.

Well done to all you guys and gals who went rounf the Island and a big thankyou to Marc for his donation to half of the Pig. Also thanks to little blufin for her culinary skills and bringing a bit of class to the 'playgroups' usual Saturday fodder.

Thanks again to all our customers well done

Gareth & Gill

NEGOTIATOR LAMBORGHINI
106,73 MPH

However,
I provided the initial information from Mike Wards Historic British Records list. As they have the overall outright record, they were listed seperately from their class. The historic records for their class dont show them as the class record holder in th 30 top 50 foot category...

It does show them as class record holder for the Class 1 class.

I believe you can only claim one record class when you break the record, so although they are in the 30 to 50 foot category, they did not claim that category record, they claimed the Class 1 category record.

I think that the category shown on the UIM website is not the correct category that they claimed - alternately the UIM do not recognise the number of categories that the british register recognises - Someone else will have to answer that.

As the British Record for 30 - 50 foot is still 75.30mph, this should still be up for grabs. But it is likely that the UIM will not recognise it as a world record, as they have allocated this to Chris Parsonage.

Johnny Pussyfoot has the BIBOA F1 record at 78.8mph, although there is much debate about how that was achieved.
