My guesstimate last night was close, but is to change slightly, this is as follows:
Class 4 = £300
Class 3 = £400
Class 2 = £500
Class 1 = £600
I'm assuming the CPC race will remain at £275 (but may get corrected, so don't hold me to it)
I reckon this is a very fair price for this race and leaves no one with the excuse that they think they're being ripped off, or penilised.
Now lets see those entries!!!

Still no good - I cannot fit a spare engine and I don't have anywhere to put a liferaft.

Jon,
Will there be any movement on the rules regarding single engined boats?
The V24's were given dispensation to run with a single engine, and now you have FOUR v24's entered. ( could have been five )
So allowing the blowup-pretend-boats with a single engine to run would add a few entries and the long-terrible-thing from thugnet.net could rustle up some entries there as well.
EPIRBS are important IMO, but for CTC a liferaft is hardly a requirement? We have gone further offshore in Cardiff and at Ramsgate in a National event, without any of that. You have flares and you have lifejackets and you have EPIRBS if you are soo far off course you need help from France.....

OK, As you well know, I don't have any clout where the rules are concerned, in fact, I don't have any clout where anything is concerned..
To be prefectly honest, I wouldn't have a problem with single engine entries at all, they've run them before in CTC (without a back-up motor) and I can't see why it's a problem. maybe it should be stated that any single engine entry without a auxiliary engine must have their own contingency for getting home in the event of a breakdown, ie, their own support. At least in the wide open Lyme bay, where they'll undoubtably be 'alone'.
I actually think the epirb and liferaft are both pretty sensible, just ask Marcus Hendricks. Bobbing about with no power isn't particularly life threatening, but being in the water, even with a wet suit on is. Just ask Roy Smith!
I will ask Mike to address the single engine class options at the RYA meeting tomorrow....you never know.
