Folkestone Powerboat Grand Prix 2012
We are still waiting for final Race Approval from the RYA but will post a provisional timetable or draft Race Instructions shortly, together with a full training agenda. Although the deadline for reduced rate entries is not until the 17 August, it would be helpful if crews could at least complete and return a race entry form to help us forward plan with trophies, scrutineering requirements and the RYA's requests for more information on which classes are entering this event. To date we only have 4 - possibly 5 - entries to the race and 4 enquiries for training.
A special reduced rate of £29pppn has been arranged by SEPA with The Grand Burstin Hotel and we are just waiting for them to come back with a code to book this directly with the hotel quoting SEPA Powerboat Race. Once this has been publicised, you will need to book quickly to avoid the disappointment some teams faced last year as it is a popular hotel and directly opposite dry pits.
A reminder that this race is an open invitation club race as well as a round of the BCC, OCR & 3B/3C Championships so we welcome entries from all classes. Please check with the race organisers if you are unsure whether your boat conforms or not. SEPA will run a club race categorised according to entries received on Saturday with the BCC race running according to the BCC rules on Sunday. If you require any further information about classes, please contact us.

Provisional Timetable
Provisional Timetable attached for Information. We may cancel the 'Flying Kilo' run which was put in to attract those who may wish to be part of the event but not necessarily want to do the full race - similar to a publicity fly past but timed. However, if there is no interest in this category, this is causing a hold-up in Race Approvals, so we may cancel it. Please let us know if you would like to participate in this fun run and we will have another look at the criteria required. If there is no interest - we will remove it from our RIs.

Folkestone Grand Prix 2012
Confirmation has now been received for the Booking Code for The Grand Burstin Hotel, Folkestone overlooking the race pits. Teams will need to book directly with the Reservation Team on 0871 222 0048 quoting the group code PWF00109. Rates are £29pppn for Friday 31 August and Saturday 1 September, but competitors are advised to book quickly as these rooms tend to go fast and we have only been allocated a certain number.

Folkestone Grand Prix 2012
Two more BCC entries received making 7 in total. A gentle reminder that the closing date for reduced rate entries is a week today - 17 August. We don't want to have to charge £175 but to be fair to those who have already paid, this will be applied.
We also hoped to post Race Instructions today but it seems we will need to wait until Monday. Anyone requiring provisional APRIs, please contact the Race Secretary who will be happy to email you a copy.
