Guernsey Basic Racing

Does anyone from the GPA know what races are confirmed for next year and what the classes are going to be? Also who has decided to race with us?
cheers

We've got no confirmed dates yet mate as we're still waiting to have confirmation of acceptance of our ideas from the RYA.
That said we've got a busy schedule planned, and will be organising a meeting for all potential racers as soon as we have any concrete information.

As for racers, we've got a list of about 25 people who actually intend to race next year, so it's promising to be a fantastic season. I just hope i can find a way to be a part of it other than just organising!

I'm not sure i can say much about the classes yet, but it'll all be very fair no matter what you race. If someone is constantly miles ahead/behind of the others in their class, they'll be moved to equal things out. In an ideal world we want people to win due to driver ability, not the size of their (or their dad's) chequebook!

If I were you, I'd fit a 150 to your boat, you'll have a great season that way, anything 200+ won't benefit you but may make for some unsafe moments...

Cheers, James

Oh you'll be competitive. Trouble is, the other guys running 200+ are running heavier boats with a few extra feet. Bearing in mind it's gnerally rough over here I can see that being an advantage, though I know you drive flippin well!
Knowing how light your P18 is, i can see it being overpowered easily and therefore possibly slower.
That said i know you're the same as me, you can never have enough power, so ignore all i said and bolt summit big to it mate!!
