All im going to say is we did 9 laps plus sl and was only lapped twice by liquid illusions... Plus they waved the chequered flag at us and told us we won

Richard's got a point there, there's something fishy about that 8th lap, I rekon someone missed something. That coupled with the fact that they did definately lap charlie in the fonda, yet somehow finished on the same lap?? In my mind the ring won the race, well done hugh!

Race Results!

Hey guys, John here.

I was helping Steph with the time keeping and was ticking off the laps- Steph gave me timesheets for both days and I've written up the lap times for both days in excel based on Steph's sheets she gave me - I've sent Jacques and Tony a copy but I've also attached them here - hopefully this works!

First of all apologies for any confusion and or any errors on this - just like you guys out there racing for the first time - I'd never time kept before!

However hopefully I can help sort this mystery out!

I can confirm per my sheet - No 86 did their 9 laps before the rib got their 12th. They did take the checkered flag - well done guys! Cracking racing!!!

As you can see - per the sheet Steph gave me there's no 7 minute lap.

However, I do think that both the Rib and no. 86 did do an extra lap?!?

Guys, I tried to work out your average speeds too but without an accurate distance for the course this was coming out with some pretty high averages (84mph average for the extreme on Sat) - Richard - you were going bl**dy well but not that quick! So I left them off.

If someone can track the length of a lap on the next weekend I'll work out average speeds per lap and overall for all boats!

From where I was sat the racing was brilliant - especially on the Sunday - can't wait for next weekend - fingers crossed - am planning to be out there too!

Cheers all!

John

You've still got Scooby Hugh as second, Oh and I can live with 84mph

So by the time sheet it looks like 2 races, we were told, or at least I thought it was one race, and the first to complete their laps takes it.

Mmmm

I just copied the sheet which had it split! Hopefully someone from the committee can clear it up.

86 should be first not second on the sheet for that class and did their 9th lap before anyone's 12th.

Already got a ring21, trying to flog it, I can't take the harder ride, I'm getting on, not like you young guys, I'm 32 and and at an age where I really appreciate socks and slippers for christmas. And I guess the press were given the time sheet which has the fonda as first on it even though it didn't complete the same number of laps.

Anyhow, have you seen the time sheet for the first race? I was looking through it to see how much of a lead I had then I flicked down to your times (boat 86 for you lurkers) and noticed all your lap times are skewed. Or you were by far the fastest boat out there.

From memory I think i did my fastest lap in just under 4min but you guys were 45 seconds faster.

I'm sure all this will be sorted for the second weekends races. So I'm not too fussed. All this is new to everyone and I think it was organized very well and very safely. A credit to all those involved.

I wouldn't be too fussed about chiefs or my boat, I'm already hearing rumors of some very fast boats looking at entering with at least 10-20mph on us. So my tail will be between my legs for the next one.

But hey ho, it should be a laugh.

A little down on speed eh?
Well I have got a 24 inch QSS from the old days that would give you a bit more speed, ideal for that boat and better then that egg whip I saw you swinging at the race-alloy I mean really boys-stainless is the way to go.
Yours for £125

It seems everyone's modifying their boats, now I'm getting worried. I think I should quit while I'm ahead!!!

...wait a minute, didn't I already do that
