forget who was in front of who, the main thing is what a spectular sight the start is for the public, and in future if we have v24 and more of the honda crews all mixed in then we have something to televise and sell to the media.

LAP TIMES HONDA v 3b and 3C (In rough)

It is clear that 3Cs will beat a Honda quite easily in a flat race but for those who are interested in the rough things turn around dramatically - probably due to length. It was a pretty close thing in the rough. The 3Cs are around 250-350 kilos lighter and run similar fuel levels.

Hopefully this may encourage the Honda series planners to integrate more with the rest perhaps and hopefully run Honda alongside these guys, OCR and others to make a more major event...better for drivers and better for spectators and better for sponsors and better for powerboating across the board in the UK.

Sorry mate I wasn't out to offend you as I know Saturday was a different story in the flatter conditions (as admitted above). I am simply trying to demonstrate to the Honda crowd that it is worth racing alongside others and is actually great fun and not as processionary as people would lead others to believe! More boats the merrier but accept this did put you in a bad light.

I think it's more likely to be the total lack of forefoot and subsequent recovery, especially in a following sea, that the B23 has (or rather hasn't). The Honda's have a far more traditional (bluff) fwd section, like that of a Phantom or similar.

Ian Sterling used to give the B23's a right good spanking in the rough in 3C with his Phantom 21, so length (for once) wasn't the issue.

I remember Pete Little after the Europeans at Cowes in 2001? It was quite nasty and after visiting Poole we had to turn and go round the south of the Island and we passed him when he was off the plane as the boat was filling up every time he stuffed it which was at least every other wave. They also take the tops off waves going upwind and Roy Smiths windscreen had a lot to do with his success I believe as he could plough through stuff better than his competitors.

Probably too much detail for this discussion, but I agree with Jon, they don't like it downwind or when it gets really rough!
