Ian Stirling stormed to victory today at LA in less than favourable conditions, coming home with a minute and a half lead.

It has to be said, Cookee lead for four laps with a very convincing lead until yet another saddle failure brought his race down to a snails pace.

Pete Little & Dave Arthur retired near the end of the race following a stuff.

Verytricky, AKA Marc Lamont romped home in V-24, making it all look very easy.

Twas kin rough! I think only five 2litre boats finished the race!

JF didnt see ya there? I was abit tied up at the beginning of the race and was in abit of a bad mood after as we had a navigation boo boo!

That's the 3rd sadle in 5 years, the pictures were taken in the pits after Kitten had strapped it up - it was really hangine off, but we managed to finish to get the points with the 70% rule (If you're running at the finsih and done 70% of the race you qualify as a finisher and get points).

Well done to Josh and Ian in Blaze - they were never that far behind us although bits were falling off themselves and the boat for much of the race as well!

Cookie, just a thought.......................dunno if it's a good one.
What about getting the saddle checked over with an HFEC once in a while or even an xray. Could ultrasonic it but it's not 100%.

If you want to do it at some point let me know. I can sort it.
small volume is fine but dont all jump in here guys. can only squeeze in so many "homers"

Xray can take a while as I have to give 7 days notice to Health & Safety. hence HFEC prefered.

Ian Blacker and Pete Little both said that Mercury have had issues with some of them, and are doing warranty claims for these parts - the thing is it doesn't help win races, it just makes it cheaper to replace the parts!

I assume I would have to take the part off the boat to have it tested? I have no idea what a HFEC is! I would certainly appreciate it - this one lasted quite a while - we had it cryogenically treated to make it stronger, the thing is I have no idea how long it would have lasted if it was untreated!

I thought V2 were using *my* trick of following in the blind spot then waiting for a mistake or slacking to overtake. I done it to him at Guernsey, so I figured he was doing it to me at Little ampton. I did not know till the finish that he retired lap 6!!

The boat is damaged. The stringer is broken port side front. The engine bay is a little unhappy with the bateries bouncing around inside, and I think I have more delaminate than laminate.....

Depends on the power of the set you are using, but it's not my forte. Do 6" quite often. As I say bleeding black art nick name them "daywalkers" never go outside much and all pasty looking
