So who, if any didn't pay their berthing fees at Cowes last weekend. I saw that several boats had notices from the marina office requesting people to pay, so I'd like to think that no one did a runner!

Team Konrad (Daniel Cramphorn), and Donzi (Kim Collins) both got confused, didn't understand the laminated letter left in their boats requesting them to pay for the berthing, and didn't know where they should go to pay, so didn't bother.

The other 35 entries all managed ok, even the ones who've recieved a telegram from the Queen (no, not Gordon Compton)

I was in Cowes today and got it in the neck from the harbour office.

It was stated quite clearly on the CTC information thread that anyone who attempted to avoid paying their marina dues would be excluded from all future BPRC events.

If it were up to me, this would be implemented without exception, and if they fail to cough up, I'd remove them from the results sheet. we'll have to wait n see.

We got a good deal from the Cowes harbour people, the bills in question were only about 60-70 quid each, probably half of the cost of one trip from Drivers to Cowes in fuel in their boats, it beggars belief that some people find it natural to try it on like this, potentially pissing off the Cowes harbour office. Perfect for when we go back next year, cap in hand asking for help.

Sorry to stick the knife in but the Porsche convertible they drive had the Road Tax from another car on the screen when i was down 2 weeks ago.
Seems the rules for us dont apply to them!!!!!!!

Yes, I saw that too, however, I couldn't care less about that, only really interested in everyone working together to make the racing happen, as apposed to trying to be clever to save themselves a buck, whilst jeopardising it for everyone else.

Maybe they'll sort the marina fees and all will be ok. Otherwise the club will have to sort it, which won't go down well.

Maybe, the rules that are in place should be enforced....if one person gets away with it, where does it end?

I for one thoroughly enjoyed the weekend both on and off the water and hope that the actions of a minority don't spoil it for the rest of us!

The Rules WILL be enforced don't worry about that because otherwise I will have to pay and that's not going to happen.

Kim Collins and Daniel Cramphorn have now both paid their marina fees.

Mike had to chase it and process it himself with their credit cards, but it's done.

You'll probably find next year that the fees for the whole weekends marina berthing will added to the entry fee, and that will have to be paid before you're let in.

'The Club' really does have better things to do than chase bad payers.

Yes, but the reason it was done the way it was, is so that the racers pay pro rata their boat size. Hannes Bohinc and his Buzzi 50 should pay more than Max Gibson with his P18 for example. If the marina fees do indeed have to be charged up front, it's more work and arguments with varying entry fees dependant on boat length! How messy will that get! Unless of course all you lot with the smaller boats are happy to subsidise the super rich class 1 racers with a set fee added to each entry, regardless of boat size?

You see, it would have been so much easier if everyone just towed the line.

You could do it by giving crews a "Chitty" to take to Harbour office when they sign in. Then they have to bring that back stamped "Paid" with their scrutineering sheet in order to be able to race.

Just a thought.

Completly agree john its not hard to go to the office and pay! I think they sometimes want the organisers to wipe their arse's as well as stick a brush up their arse and sweep the pits!!

still they say thats why they are rich!
