Well Guys ,
I regret to say that we will not be on the start line.
We are just 4 days short of completion and jury rigging the boat to compete. It was the only race that really mattered to me as I have done all the classics in the past but not the CTC.
Some things are not to be.
HOWEVER ,
we will do the Portland race and we have time to rig the boat as a race boat before pensioning off for retirement as a Poker Runner and 'Gastronimic Raider' on the coast of France !
A Huge thank you to all those that have taken interest in the project and have supported Help for Heroes. We will be supporting HFH at Portland and hope to raise more for the cause there.
I must also thank the guys, Ben, Gary and Adrian together with help from Jon Fuller, Mike Williams, Andy Crabb and Mike ( the older one) and not forgetting sponsors and supporters .
Everybody made a superhuman effort with an amazing amount of hours put in
over the last few weeks for which I am very grateful as am I for all of you who have given encouragement and best wishes.
I will continue to post some pics as we progress and look forward to a successful Portland !
Andy and I will be at Cowes on Saturday and Sunday and look forward to meeting new and old friends there !
See you there.
Mike

I must admit on reading this I really felt for you guys, having had this goal and dream all year of entering the CTC and to have it dashed at the last moment ... I think Cookee sums it up well by saying it must be totally gutting especially as you got so sooo close to achieving your ambitions ... fantastic effort though

No chance of a seat in any of the other boats!! its not the same as racing your own baby but would still be fun.
Good luck with the rest of the build the boat looks great.

Thanks Cookee and C fun.
This is the marine industry and you have to be resilient to survive . A dissapointment yes , Gutted ? well not really as I am very pleased with the boat and without the 'Dream' of CTC the project may never have started.
I have a policy of not being fazed or worried over things outside my control as we have other boats to build and the last thing I would wish is to compromise the company over a race boat !
I look forward to stage 2 at Portland and then on to the next major project as yet undecided.
Mike
