The P1 boat is a testament to the backward nature of design in this industry. The boat has little technical development beyond a 'finger in the air' attempt to provide a hybrid for a potential aftersales market. The design and development looks mixed and rushed and despite good reported finish the after effect on the 'Top Gear Board of Vote' would verge upon the "seriously uncool"

Now let's question why the move from the BF225 Cougar design?

Perhaps in the great acquisition of the F4SA somebody forgot to mention the ownership and utilisation of the BF225 'mould'. I wonder who now owns the BF225 'mould' ? Can any of you bright sparks out there answer that ?- especially from the Curtis/Warsash fraternity? Oh come on Traveller I await you input with hopeful anticipation!

Rumour has it that Honda had a royalty deal on it. Or is it the case of: "Because it's mine you lot are not having the benefit ...ha ha ha ha ha... cos I'm back in Class 1 and you, my little beauties, will never unseat the wicked witch (sorry wizard) of the east from my position and no matter how much you try I will never allow anyone to succeed - apart from me!!!!"

Now the King and the Fool are back we watch and wait with anticipation for the first fight against Victory! Can't wait!

Meanwhile Honda is dead () and despite zillions thrown at marketing the other king's seat (you know Hobbo, the billionaire), the writing is on the wall for his ego driven empire.

Perhaps Sires, you are both shealed peascods!

Sadly, we ex Honda team owners are all but shealed peascods - just look at Ebay!

My advice, for what it's worth is, don't be too quick to sell your boat!

Nice one Mike!

I actually have an idea:

Start a series where each one design boat represents a charity. (Come on Honda boys and girls who are trying to sell - don't give up on the Big Society yet). The team commits to support that charity with giving auction punters rides a few times a year which actually makes thousands for the charity. Then get their PR machines onto it so that class, perhaps mingled with OCR etc gets a pile of coverage to draw people to the event where they'll find a village. This way too perhaps the teams could be assisted by large corporates who could perhaps supply fuel etc and become associated with the event.

So the one design is the 'heart' class of racing and the event is boosted by press, media and a small village created where the charities and supporters can come along and sell their wares within a market...much like they do in class 1 Stresa.

This will get thumbs up from press, support local markets and support charities and I suspect would be highly newsworthy - especially as charities can usually get hands on celebs etc.

Now I know this because my Daughter has just met Danielle Hope (Star of Wizard of Oz) in her dressing room, backstage, at the London Palladium and was given the 'Star' treatment by the Starlight, Make a Wish people.

Get my drift?

Now if Asif's marketing team come up with this concept then for the record we all know where it came from first!
