New Powerboat P1 web site
Powerboat P1 has a new web site, very changed from the original styling
http://www.powerboatp1.com/
I do not think their are any Buzzi boats listed in evolution so far
Must say I like the new look

It certainly works better in Firefox than the old site!
Shame the "latest" news is over a month old!
Last nights incident should surely warrant a mention?

I personally like the new fresh look, I think it looks more professional, and that's why I reposted again... because I was surprised more people had not commented either way...I guess one of the most important aspects is how many hits come from outside the UK and it does seem to of captured the Americans attention in so much as they are now adopting your formula, lets hope you can push ever forward and make P1 as internationally recognised as F1

As has been said before the RB site has been getting excellent hits in the last few months, I try to change the news and pictures on the front page as often as "new material" allows - easy to do from home - but perhaps harder for P1 who are using a professional web site builder - Haymarket.
One thing that seems to work well for Ray Bulman when posting to the Motor Boat and Yachting web /news page is that he can upload his story from anywhere - negating the need for a web master!
He managed to get 3 or 4 RB stories up this week, and within hours Google news alerts had picked them up.
Can't wait to see the race online next weekend on the P1 site! Sounds fantastic technology.

Good to see 4 of the 9 boats entered in SuperSport are UK based teams and I am sure Honeyparty will shake things up in Evolution just a great shame their is no UK race

Andy Hindley
Did I hear Andy Hindley is at P1? If so can someone pass on my regards. Haven't seen him since Goss/Team Philips days.
Also good luck to all the P1 teams!

I understand this has been organised under the P1 umbrella, but carries no championship points.
The virtual spectator on the new site bringing near real-time race coverage seems to be a great idea. So looking forewards to 9th May when it becomes live

The Cowes race isn't even for P1 boats as such, but they would fit into a class - the race is being run under the Round Britain class structure instead of the UK National Class or P1 rules.

Besides the new website their appears to be another very big change to P1 in so much as the usual 2 races over the Saturday and Sunday have now been split into a Supersport event and then later in the day an Evolution event on both weekend days, I would imagine this would give the Supersport teams their own limelight and a better chance of sponsorship in the separation, I personally think it is a good idea having watched a number of P1 races as it is hard not to get caught up in the speed and noise of the front runners and they will always be evolution so perhaps this way gives everyone a better chance of the limelight...I think the only worry from P1's point of view is, should their be a number of early breakdowns in a field of only 9 boats racing you could end up with very board spectators just watching 3 boats go round...but a risk I think worth taking
Ps... and not to mention less dangerous on the start and coming into a turn with the slower Supersport class

listened to the P1 radio, although I could not figure out the interactive thing maybe it was not working or me just being dumb!!! the Supersport race left of in a similar manor to last year just sadly less the Dragon to shake things up with a win for Conam yachts with second and third to British teams Voom Voom and Silverline excellent, unfortunately I think I might of been right if you split things up then have loads of breakdowns you end up with a thinned out field that could be very uneventual for the spectators and difficult for commentators to spice up...however the Evolution race was a real nail biter will look forward to seeing it on tv, the commentators did not have to spice this race up it was full of incidents and without any speed limitations the game seemed to really be upped and amazingly rookie P1 entrant Shelley Jory held on to the lead with Nigel Hook until an untimely gremlin on the last lap relegated them too last years champion James Sheppard who snatched the lead in the familiar Fountain/Ilmor setup all great stuff
Liked the American commentator thought he brought in an extra edge to it all, P1 seems to know where its bread is buttered and that's with the Americans with their high tech hulls and sponsorship pull ...got to say I felt sorry for the Honeyparty boys having tried so hard to get things back on track hopefully they will get it up and running for Sunday
