You boys in the know - the fact that their lids came off is an indication of how forceful the wave was? Or how they didn't have the straps fastened under the chin??

There have certainly been plenty of people who've lost their crash helmets in such a stuff, Ian Stirling being a prime example. I think with him, it broke the strap!

I've lost my crash hat in a race once when we went through a wave, efffin hurts as the strap rips across your face ( I was in the observers seat so the wave hit the back of my head, water went up in the helmet and took it clean off!)

A few of the "European" Helmets dont use double D rings but a push clip attachment. Had a couple of them in the past when I did some racing in europe on the bike. bloody crappy idea.

On it's way to it's new owner in Germany. It can now snuggle up against the Toleman Bertram 38.

Anyone know if the sale was impulsive, or pre planned?

The sale seemed pretty impulsive to me but then again I could be totally wrong.
Now that I've read what I've just written I''ve realised that my information is totally useless!

Hey Mike r u an only child? If u r its similar to being married, in the end the bloke says "whatever" and shuts up because he will never win! anyway those 2 allways argue! However it happened because they were trimmed wrong!!! probably because Aaron does everything, ie steer, trim & throttle (with hand throttles). I tried it, no problem in smooth seas, but driver overload in serious sea conditions. To be fair, I think that Audrien was telling Aaron that is was a shame he lost his neck brace on saturday & he had not strapped his helmet up properly!!! Oh and also something along the lines of "I really don't want to be here right now".
Anyway M & J drove(sorry flew) a great race & the UK Sunseeker crews showed the Italians why 5 reverse gears r only good in their tanks, and not in their powerboats.
We should all be happy that Aaron & Audrien are still with us & r able to race in Portugal.
The Maltese people as a whole were awarded the George Cross for their courage & sacrifice during the 2nd WW. I'm happy that this courage is still evident & long may it continue.
Best wishes & good luck to all crews in Portugal.
Be safe 1 and all.
Cheers Paul
