Had a head clearing day so went & had a practice run today. what a nice run got a bit tricky when I caught the wash off a pedallo mind you. Speed worked out at a blistering 34.87 MPH
That should be enough to set a record if the Midas isn't ready.
BluFin smartass decided to cut across the sand bar at Mudeford on the way in. mmmmmmmmh not a smart as I thought, think I'll be replacing the Impellor & stator before I hit the plus 30's again

Have checked with RYA and as it is stands the Pier to Pier is a national Vitesse which technically is open to any class, however we can only lauch up-to 1000kg max so if ya big you'll have to arrange your own launching.

I gather you are fitting a 260efi from what Mark said to me, he said you should be good for 85+mph, the 80ish was done with an XR2 in fact I think the one I own

I was thinking about JF - you want to check your speed officially?

MATT? You too?

GAV? How about an official speed on your sequel boat?

Id best get down to Boscombe Pier on Sunday then with a deckchair, camera, knotted hankerchief, flask of tea and sarnies.

How English is that?

Fingers crossed for the weather then.

Anyone want to join me?
(You'll have to bring your own grub and tea though).

Thanks JBP. Just as well, i fly back to Dubai on the sunday. Doh.

How long has Boscombe pier been out of bounds then? Is there no access at all?

I used to go down every year up until about 3 years ago i think.

We've run formal records since 2002 and have had to get a key from the council to gain access. I think it will become part of the sea front re-generation in time but that's a while away....
