i found the race rough and generaly not much fun,i dont know if it was because it was the first race of the season, but i just could not get the boat to run right. there was a good size swell about and most of it on the beam, but the boat just didnt feel good. 1st was extreme 2nd ian stirlings phantom(nutter) 3rd mike spinks cat 4th cider daze revenger 5th us (extreme was in unlimited class)

Sometimes that's just how it is! probably just a bad day.

I always found there's a sea state for every type of boat that just doesn't seem to 'happen', not nessasarily a big sea, the boat just doesn't seem to fit it.

And then you get the sea that looks nasty, but you can't seem to do anything wrong in it!

What Phantom was Ian Stirling in?

Well you've gotta keep going! and don't be using phrases like 'trying again', just grab the bastard by the horns and get in charge of it!

it'll be fine next time, we both know that when it goes right, there aint nothing like it.

You around on the 16th? mebbe we could have a 'rev up' over that weekend if the weather's ok!..get into the spirit of it.

thats one of my weekends to work,so cant make it. should get some pics of poole soon,i will post some and see what you think. strange race although i had the engine off over the winter, but put back in the same place and the saddle overhauled, the boat felt very skitish, and the ballast tank didnt seem to make hardly any difference.im going to get out again soon and do some longer runs to get used to the bitch again

Is the bow tank definitely working ok? can't imagine sticking 150-200lbs of ballast up front, and it not mekkin a fair difference.

You won't need to get used to it again, it's like riding a bike, you just had a bad day.
