As of this morning, there had been TWO entries for the RMYC Club Classic Final Heat on Sunday.
It appears from discussions on this Forum, that more teams are intending to attend!
I'm not trying to blackmail anyone into attending, but we really cannot be expected to run this event for only 2 boats. The RMYC Organising Committee has decided that unless there are 8 entries by Wednesday 1800 - we will cancel the event.
AND, we would consider our options about whether we run the Brass Monkey Race next year.

Could you do those of us who are intent on attending, even if only as spectators, a favour and confirm one way or another on Wednesday if you are going ahead or not? Cheers.

What a shame! I think the RMYC and hazel work very hard to run their series. If a series like this can't get the support it needs, what chance do any of the other classes have?

Hmmmmn - I pesonally phoned and asked to be sent an entry form for the event. I was told is would be sent! It has not yet arrived. I phoned RMYC this morning to confirm I would be coming, and asking for information.
Is there some issue with sending out advanced notices? Despite not getting one I still tried to confirm my entry 'manually'.
It is the intention of Ana and myself to race this event if this event is run. I can fax an entry form if one is provided online - it is too late for post now, unless it is already on its way!
Am I one of the two, or does GAV's enty and mine make four? Still very very poor turnout. BASIC races are quite cool, none of the stress and crap we get in the National Points races..
What about 69?
Tasha Toggggs and father?
Mr noisy?

We (69) were gonna leave it till we had an idea what the weather would be like as we've got there several times before and it's been cancelled on the morning. But will Phone to enter now if the running of the race is at risk. Colin seemed to want to do it but he hasn't been around, presume he's away on work (that's Tasha Toggs n father).

The rules have changed. You can buy an annual BASIC licence from the RYA and do *all* the BASIC events the whole year!
You need a medical.
