Just as a thought I posted this on another P1/Honda thread ...

Quote:
originally posted by Cfun ... why not the Merc 250 or the new 200xs talked about on the other forum with a race set up probably the same speed as the 225 Honda
I know the boats are all (Honda or ex-Honda series racers) but would it not be possible to open up the 21 and 26' boats to other engine Makes ie ... the 21' boats to any type of 150hp engine with a weight adjustment to even the field out and perhaps for the 26' boats allowing the new Merc 200XS in the mix thereby opening up the possibility of the 26' boats collecting points in both 3C or 200hp series events, thereby the Honda series boats get a double usage, perhaps enticing more people over to either Honda or 3C

Four Nations Announcement Rory, Debs and CP to back team

Just received the Four Nations Newsletter:

Great news for the Honda racers: Rory Power, Debra France and Chris Parsonage are joining the Four Nations management team. It seems P1 DO NOT wish to do a deal unless under their terms. I suspect the people who have signed up for P1 will be welcomed to a Four Nations event, pity about those with a Merc 300 though! Better get that Honda back on for this year anyway ;-)

That means infrastructure and serious world level knowledge and perhaps after all there is a God and perhaps after all it isn't the one who suns himself in the hot climes whilst his entities owe our powerboating friends money!

And I've just got off the phone from someone who informs me that the person who is going to run the Honda/P1 series is no other than Peter Dredge.

I wonder if there's any truth in that rumour!!!!

OK on balance. Who has published a list of entrants and who hasn't?

That a clue?

Who sends out press releases like it's gone out of fashion and who doesn't?

Who says they have an exclusive tie up for racing in Ireland and who says they just want to race there?

Who has a group of people signed up to the association and who has a couple of diehards - desperate for European glory?

Who was out to make money from Honda teams and who doesn't have that remit?

Who is realistic about racing and who is desperate to create a series but doesn't have the support of teams?

Who when asked who has ordered the 6 Merc 300 engines couldn't name them (sorry that is biased).

Who has overseen the most ridiculous handover of a series without the proper due diligence and who hasn't?

That enough clues?

Rich, your a great bloke and I have had some good laughs with you but surely people should be able to choose with who they race and hopefuly some good can come from it all weather it be 4 nations or p1. If both can be good for the sport then everyones a winner.

Don't know about everybody else but I call the F4SA actions disruptive and have led to unecessary delays.

That is not good for the series or the value of my boat.

If P1 with all their marketing might cannot get a series together (except in fluff and marketing terms) then tell me what has that done for the teams this year?

The split was unnecessary and driven by profit motive and ego.

Quite simple and 38 of us have to suffer.
At least Four Nations have team owners interests at heart.

If P1 is successful then great I will be able to sell my boat when I need to.

But F4SA have sold them a shealed peascod my friend and that helps none of us. So predictable too as many here on this forum know.
