anyone else check it out

the web cam at times was pretty good and at times really really bad and hung on a few beech honeys so can only assume a guy was in charge of it's movements
kind of made me feel a bit sick watching that mass of spectator boats all partying and enjoying the sun with some serious hardcore machinery spanking down the coast at close to 200mph and thinking dam the next hot sunny day here will be err ... some 7 months off

a few pics nicked from Freeze frame

Sorry not a boat got distracted

I watched the race. The cameraman was a hoot. Anytime he spied a babe, fook the race, let;s watch some arse! Almost comical at times.

Those turbine boats really haul ass, would think our authorities and insurance company's would have melt down if those raced along our shorelines at close to 200mph, but it would be an amazing sight

your 46 sure looks the business guess you were aware of the Aluminium 46' that was up for $15000 and now allegedly has a new owner who hopefully will put the time and effort into it like yours has had

Did you follow the impressive rebuild of the 1991 US1 38 on OSO by Cougarman and I must say it looks amazing, wonder what kind of performance he hopes to achieve with those turbo Chief Engines especially compared to the US 38-40 with 2x1000 being discussed on boatmad at present for endurance racing

My kid was thinking about buying that aluminum one - I thought it was still listed at national liquidators?

Yes, I followed Jon's thread. Jon lives failry close to me and has a 46 himself that he is going all out on. He actually came down and we went out for a ride. But on that day, we got nowhere; one of the pickups in one of the distributors went bad - no ride that day!

I'm in the process of rebuilding my engines and freshening up the engine bay. I intend to stay the same horsepower, unlike Jon, who's going for a bit more. We should both be done by next summer. It'll be cool, two 46 Cougars playing in the water. I hear there is somebody with a 38 near us as well. That would be something, 3 Cougars all at once. Hopefully, a 6 footer day! We'll have to rent a Helo for pix that day!
