I think that they might have quite a good fleet. Many of the teams entering the Cowes to Monte-Carlo Grand Prix have said that they will be using the RB12 race to "shake down" their boats for the CM-C event. That's not being derogatory to RB12, just a fact and quite a good idea actually, very sensible and great for both races in different ways.

We will definitely be in and there are a lot of people "shopping" at the moment for boats for RB12 and Monte Carlo.

At a time when the UK marine industry probably needs all the help it can get this seems like brilliant news. Remember to buy British !
Support Cookee, Mike Ring, Huntons etc !

Yes, but nothing boat and racing related !
Brought new house, another company and new cars in 2010 !!!

My desire to race has gone out of the window when I realised how it was the complete opposite of what I hoped it was !
Thought it would be very friendly - but apart from a few individuals, everyone seems secretive, unhelpful and unfriendly.
Final straw was when someone high up in the racing world was very rude to me - promptly decided that I could spend my time and money on better things.

As a British manufacturer myself, I hope Rb12 and Cowes-Monte Carlo is a huge driver for investment into the UK marine industry.

You're talking to the wrong people then! Come and talk to us and we'll even make you a cup of coffee whilst you write the cheque out!

I've only been working with powerboat racing for the last three years, but I've found it very friendly, I love going the races and having a chat with my clients. But mybe it's different if you're racing?

Cookee,

WE even give them Chocolate Digestives. Absolutely no expense spared at Ring Powercraft to woo the client !

I suppose you have a surfeit of Carrots to dispose of .....I guess it will help the client see the 'small print'

GULP!

I'm a poor conference technician, not a well heeled international boatbuilding legend! Might be out of my depth with this game

I will admit to a bit of a soft spot for choccie hob nobs - we also have a filter coffee machine so bring it on! The local pub does a decent lunch as well although I'm not sure I can match the luxuriousness of W Sussex though!

I dont blame you for getting that impression. Same story happenned to me this year... I am still young , probably to young to involve myself fully in such activities but had high hopes and expectations in this sport and always looked +ve to racing until one particular crew in a team was extremely rude to me , I must say though that the team owner (altough he isn't really a boating maniac, more of a sports person) and pilots were very nice to me and always encouraged me to look forward. But my view has now changed from popular racing to small / simple organised competitions........
