RB2008 10th Anniversary Party.

To all 47 Race Teams who took part and the Team who helped run the Round Britain Race in June 2008 - put this date in your diary for next year.

Saturday 30th June 2018. Major reunion in Southampton.

Invites going out at the end of this month (August).

Huge Party being organised by Dean Gibbs and Amanda Smith.

It's going to be HUGE!!

What about people who made a financial donation in the early days when everyone else said it'd never happen?
Loz - you can come with me...

Cor, your memory is definitely fading.

What actually happened is that you offered a place on it days earlier and we said, "cor, that'd be great". We turned up at the agreed time (I even got Lawrence to turn up for something on time - first time in his life!) and it turned out you'd forgotten to arrange it with him.

Which was a shame, it would have been epic to have a ride on it, but no big deal - you were flat out getting the race organised and that, of course, took absolute priority. I think I can speak for everyone when I say that you, all the team that worked alongside you and all the racers that took part made it an epic event that I suspect will never be repeated.

And of course, DGS' amazing uncensored commentary video that was and is AMAZING!

Any chance of another RB race Mike ?

Maybe at the party, someone with your drive and gumption could be persuaded to do it again, run on the same Corinthian basis, so that all funding issues with sponsors can be put to one side day one, and the race actually take place !

Kindest regards

James.

P.S. Barry the bandit, please can I come to the party as part of your team.

Invites have started to go out to all crews and helpers for the RB08 10th anniversary party next year. Amanda Smith will be working her way through the list this week.

There are also invites going out on a private Facebook page to those who use Facebook. 24 crews invited so far, and after only 8 hrs 21 have said they will come!!

We think we have everybody on the listing but if you think you should be there because you were involved in the race - and haven't heard from Amanda by this coming Saturday (26th August) - bleat!!

It's going to be the biggest Powerboat Party in 2018!

71 Invites have now gone out to Race Teams and individual helpers.

RB 2008 Anniversary Party

We have now opened up invites to our celebration party on the 30th June in Southampton to all Teams and Crews who took part in the other two Round Britain Races, 1969 & 1984. If you were involved in either of these two great races please get in contact with either Amanda at asmith@goinglean.co.uk or PM me.

We still haven't found Andy Macateer - does anyone have any contact details for him?

OK, we have now found Andy Macateer but now need to find one of his crew from the RB08 race - Mark Wildey.

Where are you Mark?
