IMO the best thing you can do is get together with a 'gin palace' type boat, a smaller rib or two and the actual race boat. This then is your 'corporate day' which forms part of the deal with the sponsor. They get to take some staff or clients out in the gin palace, with an oppertunity to go stupid speeds in the actual race boat, with one rib as safety, and the other as a ferry between the gin palace and the race boat.
The total cost to you would be in the region of £2000 for the day, and the coprporate sponsorship is IRO £15000, which includes this 'day in the boat' as well as their advert on the boat.
Name rights for the boat is another thing you can sell, but dont give it away cheaply....
To the corporate guy, he gives away the sponsorship money out of pre tax money, so it costs him nothing and has a fun day out for free on the taxmans penny, and you walk away with £13000 for the actual race.
