Reminds me of when we presented The Bahamas Trophy to Mario Invernizzi and Peter Dredge in 2008 at the Squadron.

Policy was - No trophies to be taken home.

A couple of months later, we worked out The Bahamas Trophy was missing.

Fingers were pointed etc. and we had a replica made.

Invernizzi sent the original to Cowes 4 days before the event last year by courier.

Apparently Dredge had seen the trophy in Buzzi's Cabinet some months earlier.

Very encouraging - a good entry to remember dear Annie, and it shows that with sufficient reason & encouragement, the boats will come out !
How many more are there to come ?

Safety Boats needed

As always you can’t have one without the other.

Looks like we are going to have a good turnout of race boats, but we are now in need of more safety boats for the A & B laps in Poole Bay, if you can help please email me on foxfire750@btinternet.com

Julie Jackson is our safety officer for this race.

Thanks
Bob

Hello all, we are now in the final run to race day, we will have a few minor adjustments to timings and plans on the run in, the first is that the safety briefing is now 10.00 on Sunday morning to allow time to get boat launched and onto the course in time for the start run practice.

We are still in need of more safety boats, please pm or email if you can help.

Please note if you intend to watch from the end of Bournemouth Pier on Sunday, you will need time to find a car park space due to the Race for Life taking part along the sea front. The first race start is 12.00 for the Marathon fleet, followed at 12.10 by all other classes, all boat s will complete a practice start run going past the pier between 11.30 and 11.50.

Confirmed we'll be there - which race we'll be in we're not sure! (See the build thread for the full story!)

Yes, it could be lumpy, but todays forecast gives a SW decreasing slightly for Sunday, & fine too, unlike the days between now & then !
Lets hope the seas are not too big,m & that Annies race is a good one !
CU on the pier !

Would be fantastic to see the new BananaShark boat after all your hard work in Poole, but whereabouts?

Last Sunday Bournemouth bay was rough with no visibility due to the high wind and rain so hoping this Sunday is not quite as bad, although it does not look brilliant

Sunday 19 June

Weather conditions
Showers
Temperature
max 17.3° min 12.6°

Wind 20.3mph
Precipitation 0.4mm
Sunshine 8.2 hours
Sunrise / sunset 04:53 / 21:23

What time do the races start please?

This weekend

All boats will be on Poole Quay on Saturday.

The first start on Sunday is at 12.00 for the marathon boats, they will go on an 85 mile lap to the Needles and Portland, the second start is at 12.10 for all other classes who will be racing 65 miles of A & B laps, hopefully when they have finished the faster marathon boats should be back to complete the 2 A laps they need to make the 100 mile race.
