Just wanted to congratulate Tony Toll and his team and the fabulous Apache 41 for winning the Needles Trophy and being 1st home. What a wonderful result in a very rough race. She looked simply fantastic Tony!

incorrect report - (Neil Ives in 'Blitz Racing' held off the advances of lady driver Ashleigh Foulser in 'Digital Clarity'.)

Ashleigh /Graham completed 5 laps in 2h 11min against Neal / Carl 4 laps in 2h 22min finished in first place and also got first lady home.... credit where credits due !

Brilliant job by the RMYC, a special thanks to Bob Eddings who did a great job of mking sure everyone was where there were meant to be.

It's a shame we weren't allowed to race in the Marathon race - wish I could tell you all the reasons but it seems I have transgressed some unwritten rule in the rule book and my boat isn't eligible? At this point my boat isn't measured and I can't even tell you if let alone when it will be?

Confused of Salcombe.

Raceboat International updated.

http://www.raceboatinternational.com/index.php?id=306

Graham Stevens made an early morning call to shoot from Anvil Point, Tim Tapping got to the front of Bournemouth Pier, Whilst Chris Davies & David Ormiston paid £2.00 each to stand on the Helta Skeltar in the same location.

Huge budget Offshore Powerboat Racing Marketing -

Editorial supplied by a bloke that had to leave early, his car was towed away for non payment in the BIC Pay & Display.

You should have said to the scruitineers Cookee that if your boat comformed to the rules then they can't ban it from running. The rules have been agreed by the ORC at the RYA and also by the UIM so if your boat conforms to those rules then it is utterly rediculous for someone to say that it doesn't conform to an unwritten rule. Carrying on like that is just the way to suffocate the sport. I can understand how upset you are after spending so much time, money and effort getting a new boat to the line but they don't think about that do they?

I would also like to apologise to anyone who came down to see the boat on Saturday - we were directed to go to Lake Boatyard and when we got there it was very difficult to get out of the narrow entrance - We were told that one boat had hit the side on the way out so we took the cowards decision and left it on the trailer!

Can the boat be modified without major work.

Or just spill the beans

Congratulations to Tony and crew a well deserved win, the Apache being pushed by those 700's seemed well set up as it passed the pier at I assume something around 80mph

and also to the basic race entrants their was some good tussles going on out their

Somehow and I don't know why I had a feeling that the BananaShark may be at Lake yard so I popped down for a quick look and it really does look very clean with no join in the middle, and those hull steps do look quite impressive too, I was very surprised on chatting with one of the guys that they had been stopped from entering the Marathon race due to the boat not meeting what they deemed suitability ... I mentioned APPRO, but then their is a precedent already set so the boat can not be banned ... ie ... KERICOL if that's how it's spelt ... you cant let the parrot race and not the shark

No beans to spill! As far as I know the boat meets all of the regulations but there is a resistance in certain areas to partial canopy boats. I hope to be able to get a definitive answer as soon as possible so that we can resolve this and get racing!

As for modifications it would help if I knew what needed to be modified - one suggestion was to put in an escape hatch above the driver and throttleman but that would leave the roof dangerously weak in my opinion.

Arpro raced under P1 regulations - not sure if they needed the RYA to issue a measurement certificate, and Keracoll (the old Sony P1 boat) would have been measured in Italy.

Many thanks Mike, a great team effort, the boat ran impeccably, thanks to Trevor and his attention to detail, Stuart got us there and back and Steve enabled us to raise some cash for CR. We knew the Apache liked a bit of rough water but the conditions were pretty bumpy to say the least, to finish was fantastic, to win, a dream and you can't beat a bit of luck thrown in for good measure.

A less sensible post.

Your kid's crying at prize giving was driving us mad.

With all your money Barry, why don't you hire a nanny?

I had better warn the new owner of Arpro then as he has entered it in the Cowes to Monte-Carlo 2013! I think someone is making up rules as they go along. You can't suddenly decide that boats of a certain type are not eligible in the middle of a racing season just on a whim, not when similar boats have been taking part in Marathon/Endurance, it's just not on.
