Adam, yes it is hard work, it's all most a full time job as you get nearer the event.

We are in the process of moving house, so will post again in a few weeks with the the results of the Charity Donations that we collected, it's in the thousands, so well done to you all.

I am getting slightly F'd off with going to funerals that have been caused by cancer this year -

JM Snr is bald, 6 stone and under going chemo.

Hi Martin - yes, we will be doing Cowes, just the CPC as too much work and expense to get the boat legal for the big race.

Entry is in and looking forward to it.

Probably the only other race I can fit in this year.

Our next committee meeting is on the 13th July, we will decide how to split the money at this meeting, Rob has indicated that he would like some to go to Macmillan Cancer Support, last year it was split between Cancer Research and two other local cancer charities.

Just to wrap up the 2011 season from the RMYC we would like to thank all the competitors, safety boats and officials for making the Annie Beakhust Memorial race a great success. Last night we held our helpers reception at the club, we presented our safety boats with an engraved glass to commemorate the event, £2,000 of donations have already been sent direct to Cancer Research, last night we were able to present the local MacMillan Cancer Support with cheques for a total of £6,202.67. On behalf of the Motorboat committee at the club can I forward our thanks to you all, as some of you may be aware Rob Beakhust is not well at this time, but it was Rob’s wish that most of the money from this event should go to MacMillan who helped Annie in the last few weeks of her life.
Once again thank you all for your support and generosity we look forward to seeing you all in 2012.
