As I understand it, the way things stand at the moment is that there will be no required changes to existing boats, though thre will be 'recommendations'. Slight improvements must be made to new boats ordered after the 1st Jan to reinforce against side impact. These changes are currently being drawn up by Adam Younger.
The suspension is due to be lifted shortly.

All of this is waiting to be ratified by PBRC when they first meet in early January, at which point the suspension will be lifted.

That's pretty much all there is to it really as far as the racers are concerned.

'Keep calm and carry on' is the phrase I believe?

One thing that does seem to be settled is that existing boats aren't affected, if you want to make your boat 2012 spec add some reinforcement to the sides - I think it's fair to say you won't be seeing roll bars in OCR either!
