Do we actually need any RIB class for this event? Why separate them from the "real" boats at all?

For my part I am not bothered what the classes are called or how many there are. I just want to be able to enter a race against boats with similar speed / capablilty so that winning comes down to preparation and skill rather that wallet size. It will be almost impossible to raise the cash to enter if you can't dangle the carrot of winning class in front of the sponsors. Formula 1 200 outboard / 320 inbored verses unlimited 2 x 200 outboard / 2 x 320 inbored is clearly and unfair race with hugely differing budgets.

Sorry not trying to put a dampner on this I really really want to compete and wish the organisers all the best for a truly fantastic event.

Did anyone notice this on ebay?

I was watching a original 1984 round Britain programme a week or so back, but southwesthotcat beat me to it.

then this came up with the exact same programme.

We will never be able to please All of the people All of the time but will do our best. Priority right now is finding the money I'm afraid, without that there is no race.

Just heard some great news from Hutchy. He has purchased John Bakers 1988 Class11 Flipper "Flippin 'Eck" from Maurice Williamson who has been keeping it under wraps since 1990.
Hutchy is gonna fit BIG outboards and run it in the Round Britain.
Now, how can I wangle a ride on a leg.

How many teams to you have ( like Hutchy ) who have properly approached you to enter ( despite not having an entry form yet )

Who are they?

Anyone interesting/well known/infamous?

Thanks for your interest. Thirty Two potential registered runners like Hutchy as of today. Lot of work still to do but the interest is almost overwhelming. Sponsorship is the priority.

For anyone interested, this is a bit big, so I need to address that, but here's the '84 programme as a pdf (40 odd meg)
