RYA Powerboat Race Training

PBRT 2012

Anyone who requires race training can join us at our next PBRT on Saturday 24th March, even if you are a member of another club. This will be run in accordance with the RYA's guidelines on PBRT as laid out in PB3 2011 - which we are assured by the RYA have not changed for 2012. You can view the current requirements for PBRT in the attachment.

There will be the usual minimum charge for this training of £35 to cover administrative costs. If you are interested and wish to book a place, or require further details, please contact the Club Secretary, who will be happy to provide you with further information.

I've a friend who's keen to race, but is having trouble understanding the licence requirements. If he was to attend this weekend, would the end result be that he'd have a licence, or is this just the first rung of the ladder?

He's keen to race 3b, but is also looking at a couple of other classes!

We understand from the RYA that the Rules Books won't be available until Easter, but they have promised to send us through up to date rule changes electronically. Our aim is to update both officials and current competitors to ensure everyone is clear of the 2012 rules, so part of the training will be aimed at new and current racers as well as our officials.

For you it will be a very big charge - to everyone else FOC!

Seriously - There will be no charge to existing competitors and officials for the rule updates. A nominal fee of £35 will be charged for administration purposes for the whole days training for newcomers to the sport. We are also hoping to arrange for medicals to be carried out during the day, if anyone is interested?
