What on earth did the SA lot do to those phantom 16's? what were those decks all about?

When we had trade sanctions against SA during apartheid - They were the original Splashed Phantoms!
Lorne Campbell's design of the 3C cat Langan's also found its way over there - That is another story!

Well lets look on the positive side, there is no need for anymore of those awful decks to be made!
Just tried to watch your next lot of vids but it says they are converting?
From the look of the field would this have been the last hurrah of the old school types of boats before the 'ocke' invasion? i understand that cats were in 3c in the late 80's in force but you still had the odd ring phantom et el?
it is really nice to see such a varied fleet.i have the race boat magazine with the article from hull.
