I had a text from John (B48) saying it was quite calm this morning and he didn't think they'd keep up with the cats, I'm guessing it roughed up again?!
1 more race boys, you can do it!!!

At a guess with limited info, that surely gives him the title?

A previous text I had said...........Bob just went the wrong way and the cat followed, they lost lead and are now in second and third.

I'm not sure how the points are being dished out. B48 has had 2 wins, B9 a 2nd and a DNF, B2 has had 2 third places. B48 must have a substantial lead, maybe catchable though?

Points
400, 300, 225, 169, 127, 95 etc.
Normally 2 wins are enough if you haven't got a boat with 2 x 2nd places.
So B2 could win the title, if he wins heat 3 & B48 finishes lower than 8th.

That must've been the living legend that is Pete Wilson then? I remember watching that era of racing as a kid, it becomes ingrained in you....

Wow, never realised Gerve made it all the way to world champ, or that a local lady got the 2 litre worlds!! Goes to show how poor my history is!

John won't be going back out again, the trim broke trimmed in and they hooked and rolled it - they are both OK and they've had the engine running but the boat isn't in good enough shape to race again this weekend.
If you're confused by Bob's points tally he got 4th place in race one because he reads the rule book! If a race is shortened you don't have to be running at the end of the race and as he was so far in front of most of the field he got fourth!
Still lots to play for today although it's Guernsey's to lose! Two really nice guys and they are over the moon with how it's going for them!

Did he tell you that after lunch?
Interesting to note, boats from Jersey have won the 3C Worlds 4 times.
