If you don't have a number setup already you have to do one - it will take you to the page automatically to do that - you need letters and a number.

Thanks Cookee will have to look into it ... the strange thing is I use those 2 cards 2 buy £10,000s of stock per month for our trade and the main issue mostly with the cards comes from the manufactures ringing me up to say they failed and then 2 miins later I get an automated message from the card company's wanting to do a check on the card outgoings to confirm we made the orders to prevent fraud before they authorise it ... the world of automation sometimes does not always run like clockwork ... guess I wont be able to buy that new boat on these cards now

It's an online thing only - if in doubt get the screen up and ring the online help at your bank - they will confirm it's Kosher!

Just received your generous cheque via Mike R. Thanks very much indeed and it's going in the pot. We have now raised almost £1,000 which is not bad going. Hope to raise the same again so if anyone wants to help us at Cowes raising funds for Help 4 Heroes PM me. Will ask Mike R if he will provide a quick trip down the Solent and back in "Overlord" after the CTC race as a reward.

If I can do anything on the PA at Cowes to help in that direction Mike, I will.
I'll see you either before, or at Cowes & sort it, to publicise the cause.
Maybe we can get a "volunteer" to do as you suggest.

For those who might just be interested, we are moving our fund raising for Help For Heroes onto the South Coast Marathon. Anyone able to donate even £5 would be appreciated.

To date we have raised just over £1,000 for these guys.

Many thanks to Mr & Mrs Brennan for their generous donation.

Your'e getting cheeky Martin. Will have to have a word with you!

Mike and his team doing their best but they do have boats to build for clients as well. We should be there, I'm told. I'm banned from the workshop, told I get in the way!

Whatever, Andy and I are ready. An easy 100 miles breeze this next one.

It is with considerable sadness that us two OAP’s have had to make the decision not to race this coming weekend – for several reasons - which brings us to the “Help for Heroes” project.

We started this with the very best of intentions. After much discussion we decided to take part together to have some fun and at the same time raise funds for a worthwhile charity. “Help for Heroes” was our natural choice. If we could raise funds for these great people who are fighting for us and who come home maimed and limbless and have to suffer terrible injuries for the rest of their lives then why not support them whilst taking part in the 50th anniversary of this great race? Cowes came and went without us being able to finish the boat and so we decided to aim for the last race of the season at Portland. Now we can't take part in that one either as we said above for several reasons most of which are out of our control.

Many of you gave generously in support of our desire to take part at Cowes and we thank you for that but at the same time feel guilty that we have not been able to carry through our part of the bargain, we apologise for not doing so.

The up side is that regardless of our shortcomings you have raised over £1,000 for the Charity and they – Help for Heroes - have written to us and thanked us/you for the generous support.

Thank you from - the two OAP's & Andy Crabb.

I am sure that all of us who donated to this cause will appreciate the efforts made, & that the funds will go to the intended excellent cause.
Can we look forward to seeing Mike & Mike, etc racing next year ?
Although we have just seen the 50th running of a race from Cowes, the 50th year occurs in 2011 (2011 - 1961 = 50), therefore another special milestone.
Surely an occasion to get out & race ?

Yes, 50 races, this year.
But the first race was in 1961, & the first year therefore from 1961 to 1962.
The first race was, in effect "year zero".
Therefore 50 years since the first race comes in 2011.

2011
- 1961
_______
50
_______

2010
- 1961
______
49
______

Simples.
