Nah.., Every time you switch-on the news there's some poor soldier who's been injured, or given his life for his country... and often they don't release their name(s) until the family have been informed... water under the bridge?

C'mon guys... this is REAL and happening NOW...

PLEASE get-behind our forces (the best, most professional, in the world... remember the Falklands?!) and do everything you can to support them...

I'm sure that everyone will be with you on this one Mike...

I think that, regardless of the political situation, we need to support our guys..

They're "doing their job".. exceptionally well...

Yeah, counting every day!! Thanks for the offer of support, appreciated but a donation would be better.

To the guys who have donated so far many many thanks. As Ian says, we owe our guys out there in the dirt and the heat risking their lives every day while we play boats back here.

My stepson already has his Green Beret as a reserve in the Royal Marines and will be starting officer training at the end of August so this is very close to my heart - of course I will be contributing and I hope if anyone can spare a little time they will be able to help out with this other thing I will be helping with: http://boatmad.com/forum/showthread....ghlight=heroes

My pleasure.

Would Mr Ring, or any other CTC participants, be up for auctioning a blast on the solent at some stage during the festival. I would be happy to start the bidding !

Kind regards

Happy to support you and your most worthy cause, Mike.

It would need permission from somebody to do it properly - I remember Peter Dredge? giving some people a lift back to the marina from the sea front and getting either disqualified or a severe bollocking. If we make it (entry in the post today) and we are in one piece after the racing I will take two people to Salcombe by water after the racing on the Monday - subject to weather and state of the boat - all donations to charity! Being after the racing has finished it would have nothing to do with the races officially.

I'll even arrange for a lift up to Totnes railway station so that you can get home!

You will have to forgive a couple of Old Men as we are a bit slow, mainly 'cause you aren't there to help us with the paper work this time!

Entry form is now with me, have to wait for the pension before sending it off but it will get there don't worry!

Well it does involve Jensen as we just bought a house at auction that has some wacky buildings on and four acres of land. Lots of trees for him to climb and got to get a tractor. The bandit will a a nice warm winter home too.
