The reason for the change to diesel is that with huge petrol horsepower I need huge tanks, and I really don't want to be sitting in a bomb anymore!

So, some good diesel torque and reliability and economy I might finish a race and not as before stop (even though I might have been in the lead at some time) and have enough lawnmower fuel to do the whole of Oxfordshire.....again!

Weymouth

So who can we count on; lets get together and help Tony run this race weekend.

Cinzano IN
Going Lean IN
PPG Print IN
Cougar Rib IN
Martin Lai ?
Blue Absolute ?
Gordon, you can be briefed on Sunday so as not to miss the footie !
Nick and Jon ?
Glen in Bounty Hunter ?
Tony, go on fix your cam shaft !
Mel and Peter, you can't break it again ?
Dorian- you are forgiven.
By the law of averages: it may be calm !
Tony has worked hard for this and has laid on entertainment for Saturday night.
To keep the sport going we have to race, it's not like we don't enjoy it, or do we?

Come on chaps !!!

Weymouth Marathon Race - UKOBA

Dorian is rebuilding the boat to take diesels so he has said on here already, that he is out.
Gordon & Cookee in "E" are also not running - Cookee is at SBS, & Gordon said to me at Lymington he will not race as he understands that Swipes will not either.
Without those 3 or 4 boats we could still have a good line up - let us hope so !
Well done for 'sussing out' those Simon - I'll see you at Weymouth on the Sunday hopefully.

Weymouth

I would love to be there and enjoyed Weymouth very much last year. It is a great location. And we really need to make sure that Cinzano does not sink under the weight of silverware.

However, I have to officiate that weekend at a christening in the capacity of godfather to my neighbours' new sprog, Laszlo (yes it is different isn't it). I did tell the vicar that there are two seats in the rear and that we could get a lifejacket over his cassock - but he was unmoved.

Sorry not to be there.

Just mulling over what boats are out their for this last marathon race which like others I would love to see take place

Tony's Apache Warlord, if fixed, Glenn's Cigarette Bounty hunter, Drew's Silverline Fountain if fixed, Vee's Phantom Microlink PC, Martins Pantera ocean dragon racing, the Payter's PPG marine PPG print, Bob's XS Blue absolute, Jean-Pierre Buzzi Birretta, Nick's Phantom Swipewipes, Gordon's Compton Compton marine, the Whitley's Shakespeare Fugitive

And what about lending a life raft to The 2 Donzi boats that have competed recently with great success ie ... Sydenham's ZRC Project and last but not least team 26's Donzi

First off you left me out!

Second - I'm afraid none of the E class boats (Gordon and Swipes) will be there.

Having said that we will be at the boat show with the liferaft if the Sydenhams which to borrow ours but I think they have the same problem we do - boat show commitments!

Cancellation

Chaps,
I have just spoken to Tony Fiddy and regret that he has informed me that he has had to cancel the proposed Weymouth race, due to lack of entries.
I can assure everyone that this decision has not been taken lightly and that Tony and I have done all that we could to drum up interest.
Please don't think that he hasn't tried because I can assure you he has, but with only 3 boats confirmed and a vague possibility of a fourth it just can't be done.
Very Sorry !

Oh Cookee how could anyone forget you and your team , However I did leave out the teams which were either shown to be taking part already or defiantly not such as yourselves at the boat show ( hope you sell loads and get them into marathon racing ) and Rob's Buzzi Pippa due to christening

Actually hoping to get to the show this year for the 1st time in about 10yrs, so hopefully pop along and say hi, can't grantee to buy a boat though

We are in the regular processions on the water and on the marina for the last three days as the "Feature Boat".

Hi Guys,

The B51 Bounty Hunter will not make the final South coast marathon race as other commitments are priority, also the Port side out drive and shaft hub had damage on the CTC and needs a rebuild. my apologies for not being able to run on this event.
Our season next year will start on the Needles challange
and we will be present for the CTC. Thanks for all the hard work by the
people that make these classic races happen. I hope our next season will
be a greater success and we will strive to make the boat better than ever.

Cheers Glenn, France

Exclamation

Hi Guys, don't forget that Thundercats and UKFFORC are racing at Weymouth next weekend. It seems to be only the Marathon that has been cancelled due to lack of entries!

Thundercats are racing off the beach, by the pier adjacent to the Pavillion, and UKFFORC are racing all their classes on a course in Weymouth Bay.

If you're doing nothing else at the weekend, pop along to Weymouth and support these other RYA National Championship classes.
