As I say much to be done, entries starting to come in now, which is encouraging, fees are a little on the high side I know, but its our firm intention to give back any surplus either in benefits in kind or possibly prize money. Unlike others we are in this to get some racing done, to have some fun and not to live off it ...

This all sounds very encouraging Simon.

The Chief Factory Racing team have always been one of our more anticipated entries. Everything about this team screams excitement, and they've now created their own website for the custom build of their entry:

I am trying to understand how this course works out?

I was talking to a good mate of mine the other day, she told me that when she did the London to Brighton in 1988 in a Phantom 28' she was tired at Ramsgate - Totally F***** by Brighton.

Are racers and boats made of harder stuff these days?

Great video Ciao - I'm guessing the teams will be extremely relieved to pull into Brighton for a bit of respite before setting off again to Guernsey

Dont forget, back in 'the day', the likes of Clive Curtis & Co did Putney, all the way to Calais, and back to Putney, and not in 40' Shead creations, or P28's. Curtis won the first event in a 14' Bry-Owens covering the 230+ miles bugger that! ...Tough guys.

Undisputed stars / heroes of the show in 1988 in my opinion.... Jonathan Lucas & Ian Orford in 'Absolute Beginers' ...Outstanding!

I think that's a good question and I think the answer is you have to pace yourself and the boat to make it in one piece - That's what we'll be doing. Although we had to miss some of it we managed to get around Britain through the Caledonian without any major issues at a decent speed in ten days, even the days we missed out stuff were long and difficult!

RB 2008, last leg Lowestoft - Portsmouth, almost 200 miles. Bit bumpy around Dover but OK otherwise.
Should be no problems from London to Brighton.
