That's probably because the changes are being driven by the competitors and the clubs, rather than the RYA. Perhaps a proper statement needs to be made on the premier UK powerboating site (Here! ) regarding classes, eligibility, entry requirements etc, to clear things up.

On too many committee's etc!

Actually the whole thing is really brought about by the clubs, mostly ORDA and UKOBA. The RYA are being very supportive - but are not always good at gettin ginformation out.

Something needed to be done and the catalyst in many ways was the terrible way we were treated by the organisers at Cowes last year. Brought everyone together.

Always get in touch if you need any information. I have a pretty good idea of what is going on - but also Brian Peedell (Rhino) is on the steering committee for Formula 200 and is also on the ORDA committee - so he may have the latest news etc.

All the best and hope to see you out racing
Adam

Adam could you pm me your phone number and suggest a time when I could bend your ear for 10mins or so preferably out of work hours.

Kind regards

The basic race would be cancelled if there was not enough entries, think it was mentioned in another thread before this one.

The youth National Championship races will still be held, we've got 22 boats there on that weekend with about 40 entries (yes they can share the boats)

reply to silversurfer. as things stand at the moment F200 as it will be known will be a mix of all 200hp boats, ribs, class3,production.the term production will be all 200hp boats that at the moment do not have anywhere to race. min length will be 18ft phantom type boats. you will be able to race, with one day licence, twice in one season. if you get a taste for it you then can upgrade your licence to full national.By doing this you get the chance of running alongside all national boats. we are all working really hard to get this off the floor and kickstart the whole racing scene.we have full support from the rya, and when the final details are ready ,they will be posted here on boatmad .if there is anything else you need or need to know just post on F200

At last we, hopefully, have a class that will suit the majority of sports boaters. Its now up to the people who have moaned the most about not being able to race to support the class. It would be nice to see all those 80mph+ boats on the start line
Come on down and race offshore!!!!

Thanks for the info guys. Regarding the Allhallows event I phoned them and the lady didnt really want to register my boat because she didnt have enough interest yet. Has anyone else shown any interest in doing the basic at Allhallows ? Could we collect a list of names for her?
Is there a list of dates and events for the Formula 2000 event?

On a different note does anyone here use skype? http://www.skype.com its great for free internet phone calls and cheap for all other types of calls maybe we could include our skype contacts id in our profiles - its free by the way!
