Bob, would it be worth exploring a combined hp/cc class strucure? Just a bit of thinking out loud but each class could have an either/or limit?
That way you could either please or upset everyone!!

I would think it is really essential that all boats are allowed for in order for a combined classes series to move forward. Might do a race or two in my RIB.

"Is this basic racing? I thought the whole v6 thing was not what was wanted in ocr bob?"
Not answering for Bob - But surely the point is that this is not OCR & not offshore - a combination of the two and a way to get all classes racing togther

"How short & how Long !! It is perfectly feasible for some (maybe Classes 3a and 3ocr) to run a mix of both !!"
That sounds better - I think racing is better with the navigator having to do some course work. Also if the racing is for all types of boat - not every one wants to go round and round in small laps.
Courses / lap lengths - probably need to be looked at to suit the venues, so maybe possible to run a longer lap now and then too.

Adam has pretty much summed it up !! Its just Racing !! Take a look at what Offshore Passion are doing !!

There should be something for everyone. The V6 thing was not so much "not wanted" as "not allowed" !!

Now please leave out the comments !! If anyone requires explanations of whys & wherefores then please call for a chat. Other than that just are you in or are you out at this point !!

Bob

sounds great guys and with some luck (££) i would love to join in on a couple of races.
I have always wondered how handicap racing would work? You could start of the racing in a "Basic race" style and then start implementing handicaps.... Has it been tried before?

That was not meant as antagonistic bob, so I am sorry if it came across that way. It was a genuine question regarding what can and cant. I did look at the french and think it could work, but the thread was about why people are not racing, Regarding the class structure how far have you got? Or is it depending on what comes out to play?

It was not taken as antagonistic, Its just that i dont want this one to lose its way !!
Once we have exhausted the list of who wants to play then we can sort out the finer points. Surfice it to say that yours along with all the other boats out there will be eligible !!

Bob
