Also, the torque of the 2.5 has brought the cats back to life and they're pushing nearly 100. What's gonna happen with the torque of a 3L when they can get over the hump with an even bigger prop. Does 3C really intend to be a 100mph class.

Maybe a cat with an 200XS can do 95MPH on a lake with an egg cup of fuel and the bare essentials to pass scrutineering, Also a non restrained Nav is free to move about to help balance the boat on a run.

Reality is that racing speeds are much less, where handling and maintaining a good average speed wins races.

Maybe one of the more experienced offshore racers will post top racing speeds for a mono and a cat?

actual race speeds are a closely guarded secret, wait for the flag to drop at the first race then we will see who is exaggerating their speeds.I personally think there is confusion between MPH and KPH.

Agreed.
There seems to be a direct corolation between MPH & KPH, AND, 'Bar-room', & 'actual' race situations.

This problem with the XR2 could have been solved at the UIM GA in Novenber !
I don´t think that UIM would have anything against dispensation for next years worlds, but no one motioned for it !

If the XR2 was to be granted dispensation, C-24, if not sold, will be out doing a few of the nationals and certainly the worlds if allowed......

So what's the situation here?
XR2's are legal for nationals but in debate regarding worlds?
or in debate regarding both nationals and worlds?

well in that case Brian could you please let me know asap as to when you find out the end result, as this could be the deciding factor on whether C-24 comes out to play or not

cheers

I have just spoke to the horse again and...

No plans at all for a replacement 200XS
The 250XS has just passed and will be available in the UK in about 1 month
The 300XS has failed CE Approval so will not be available!
So that leaves the New lighter 200 4 Cylinder verado fourstroke...with the old straight six one being some 288KG,s!! Far from ideal for racing, so as it stands at the moment unless the UIM pass a 250HP rule (which i will be amazed at) We will HAVE to go fourstroke and possibly change manufacturer to a heavier yam/suzuki etc.....What to do??

Yes! But our race conditions here in Sweden isn’t as rough as you have it in Britain. So our rigging is probably a little different.
