Does anyone know the official figure for fuel consumption at WOT on say a ProMax 225?

Surely it has to be 20gph?

if it is, when you add this to the cost of Merc high perf oil, I would have thought you could almost double that figure (60 quid/hour)

I am talking WOT though!

Well I reckon a Foulcoon 700RSR, with a Yam 150V-max those fkkn things do 80 odd (apparently) although that may only be in Greek water.

Joking apart,
You can't have too much power, you can have too much weight, and you can definitely have too little power.

so it's gotta be a 2.5 efi offshore (280HP)

I'm sure even with the higher weight of your Trio/Phantom, you'd see 70 plus.

yeah, come on Matt, strike whilst the 'Iron Hoof' is hot.

Ok...so now we're having some dialog!

I think a 280 may be out of my price range (unless i go the route of buying a p/head/ mid seperate)....but it seems that theres alot of later model (98 ish) 260's about.

whats the difference......................& how high a maintenance are they?

are they any good for skiing at sensible speeds?.......I.e for when i take me cousins/ uncles out whoe are lets say; less enthusiastic about having the shoulder sockets ripped to shreads!

Well I guess they're a bit less friendly than a 225 promax, rather noisy etc, but they go like stink, and don't weigh too much, I'm sure you could find one for your budgeti n good order. only trouble is I guess, they're mostly gonna be ex race kit.

I suppose talking a little sensible all round, it keeps coming back to the 225 promax.

why don't you try talking to Nico Bertel again.

I suspect you spend most of yer time cruising around in the fletcher at the moment so you'll be using a lot less fuel, remember all ski racers are barking mad!! [/B][/QUOTE]

i did it was just for skiing and a blast to swanage boat sold last year met the new owner in the summer osbourne bay chuffed to nuts with it say's more economical than his old merc 150 rig,
but if your on the peddle all the time it's going to cost you but you no that with d/r
