King & Queen Poker Run 2/10/2010

The King & Queen Pub in Hamble are hosting a Poker Run on Saturday 2nd of October;

It is a Ribs only event in this their first year and likely to include other boats in the future. The charity cause is for the Hamble Inshore Lifeboat. Please see the website for more information or speak to Janet at the Pub.

Did anyone do this? I spoke to the pub my self and they may open it up to other boats in the future, would be great to have a few poker runs to do next year!

what safety equipment is needed in boats these days
as my boat is old and probably does not have any suitable equipment

There is no official kit for these days as they are a rally, but general seaworthyness is a must as well as emergency equipment, and of course common sense. Basically all good all round boating preparation.

lifejackets
radio
some form of gps
helmet
flares

am i missing anything

the boat is seaworthy as is the engine

Again, no set in stone rules, but all you have mentioned is good practice and prep.

Wink any poker /fun runs in south east coast

new here so first things first hi to all on boat mad just thinking any poker /fun runs comeing up 2011 on the south east coast ??? i tend to do all my boating canvey island to ramsgate sometimes on to calais or up to london most of the guys i used to boat with have packed it all in or bought seadoos ££££ has a lot to do with it any way if there is any action comeing up in 2011 on my part of the coast that i can join in on would be great i will keep checking the poker run section

Hopefully the drivers dry berthing will run again, alot of interest for more runs and cruises so watch this space and the drivers powerboat club facecool page, I am in london so if you ever wanna meet up for a blast with a few bods let us know. Paul

thanks paul i am just up river from you i am allways out playing in the boat went out yesterday only for a hour just to get my fix for the week , wont be laying boat up i us all year round get some nice boating day i mid winter allhallows was my old boating club moved across river so at canvey island big ramp allways shelterd in the creek so i can allways launch no matter wot weather is doin i will keep look out for group boating activety allways seats for 1-2 on my boat regards paul
