Due to people having such a great time at the weekend I am hosting another poker run on the 5th September once again at Piel Island.
There is limited space available but should anyone want to enter just pm me and I'll get the details to you.
It's been anounced this morning and there's only around 10 spaces left and that number is shrinking fast.

Cheers
Mike

Still 8 places left and only 4 weeks to go, surely we can have 30 boats at this one as it's all for the children's ward at Furness general so a massively worthwhile cause, plus it's a mega weekend so what's to loose?

Less than 2 weeks and 7 places left, anyone fancy it? It's one hell of a weekend and all in aid for the children's ward at Furness general hospital.

Flyer for this event, there is also going to be a poker run held out of fleetwood near Blackpool next year organised by the local lads, these are proving to be very popular events so please enter as soon as the entry forms come out for next years events if you want to take part.

Next year there should be 4 poker runs between fleetwood and the Piel island poker run, there will also be some fun runs with some very interesting twists to them which will be announced nearer the time

Blackpool 2016

As Mike says there will be two events run within wyre estuary and beyond dependent on weather next year.
30 boat limit with preference going to those who have run in one of last two events
we have choice of two venues with camping facilitys and bar / entertainment.
this will be booked as private function so as to keep undesireables away.all be it at the moment only one.
as with all the poker runs the organisers can refuse entries if they are likely to ruin what has become excellent boating and social event.
dates to follow soon

Well I don't know about anyone else but I'm itching for another poker run weekend, them things are seriously addictive.. 4 happening up north next year, 2 off Piel island and 2 off fleetwood yacht club.. Invitation only to the Fleetwood runs I believe but the Piel runs will have a few spaces to fill, hope to get some people to travel from Far and wide to experience the island (you need to).

The first date will be announce soon and entries will be taken after xmas, if youre even considering coming then just go for it.. You won't regret it. Also if you haven't already, join the Facebook page, Piel island Poker run 2015 for all the videos and photos of last years events.

There's been no mention in the committee meetings regarding poker runs from the yacht club, our next committee meeting is 7th December,I will look into it for you as to launch and use the clubs facilities you need to be members which is £100 a year

Mark. I've already had a chat with some of the committee and commodore about poker runs next year and the use of the club facilities / launch recovery and they are all for it and will help in anyway they can as this sort of event will help the club.no dates set in concrete yet but we're working on it.

Pointless trying to ruin or prevent a perfectly good boating event which will bring a fortune to your club.. Think outside the bubble mark

I'm sorry Mike but the club has rules, its primarily a yacht club and there are rules stating as to its use, membership is foremost and then safety, peil poker runs don't coincide with any other events but the yacht club has its own dingy races that will run on the same day as they run them every tide, trust me they are concerned for saftey as I am on the committee and powerboat membership has been capped now and no new members are accepted due to there being too many already, the club has an insurance policy that is getting stricter each year and health and safety is there main concern now in order to meet the insurers demands.as powerboat secretary of the club all meetings like this have to go before the committee and be a raise of hands shown for or against as to weather the event can happen, nothing formal has been put to the committee Alan yet, also do you honestly expect to be able to run an event from the club and exclude myself who is a committee member because of Steve?I suggest if you want this event to happen you have a word with him as to his attitude towards me and then maybe we can make this happen in the correct manner

What you forget you was put on the commitee by a few members as a joke,
what you dont seem to realise is you can be removed and theres more wanting you off than on.
as stated at the start there are more than one option on venue not a problem and im sure the yacht club and its members will be glad of loss of revenue.
on speaking with alot of lads last night they think it might be ok to let you in.
now that was a joke, you dont realise nobody wants to socialise with you and as the insurance states for the runs only competent drivers should be allowed at organisers descetion
so again your out on all counts.
good bye and stop wasting all our time

Mike dont you think it would be best to stop any posting etc concerning the run on here as there is only ever one reply from the same clown.
keep it to poker run page where items can be discussed without all this crap.
at the least dont involve our runs.
its getting boring
cheers

I'll agree with you on that one Steve, it is boring and no one else does reply, Facebook seems the more relevant place for this event and pretty much every interested power boater is on that page.
