The first priority was the safety of the participants and with the
forecast of more gales to come we couldn't take the risk.

It a shame that the British weather has beaten on this occasion but we will arrange a new date when the weather clears.

Thanks to everyone for their support and also for all the hard work of the organising team.

Robin !

Our great British MET office got it wrong again, Saturday was breezy down in the Solent, but I think we could have easily got round for the Poker run, it was flatter than CTC race day.

Just a shame we can't get accurate forcasts and some stability to our British weather, still hopefully as autumn approaches the weather will become more stable and we can all have a good day out.

Garrick, I couldn't agree more.

I was watching the shipping forecast which was predicting a force 5 gusting to 8. Just couldn't take the chance.

All the hard work that was put into the event is not lost and everything is in place for the the next one.

As they say " watch this space"

yep, it was most certainly called of a little prematurely.

Ive always thought its best to just say the events on & wait to see what happens on the day, sometimes its a massive letdown & washout ....... but most of the time it turns out fine I reckon!

It definitely wasn't a decision taken in haste and you have to bear in mind that some boats we coming from other places along the coast.

July............... are you having a laugh?

Surely the fact that last years one was under subscribed would mean that runners & riders need as much notice as poss. Wouldnt it be better to stack a date in the diary now for post the cowes weekend so that peeps have a fair crack at getting organised?
