Tony's on the case.... he's gonna make up a new hatch (lighter) and put a flap in (in case of battery failure)...

The hatch mould was one I made as a one off for Maelstrom, tony didn't want a hatch with returns etc, he used to lay up his hatches on a flat textured mould, and cut it to shape leaving a bare glass edge, but when I went to throw the mould in the skip (having made my hatch) it got tucked away in the skunkworks and soon illegal copies began to surface from Extreme marine! now my 'one use only' mould produces ALL the hatches fitted to the boats.
lol

Electric ram from Ultraflex, but it's marketed under loads of other names too.

It's operation is nice n quite, but a bit slow, and it doesn't hold the hatch shut, so you still need a safety device, in my case, a little rubber hook thingy, but it does mean you can get it open in the case of a battery/wiring/ram failure.

A couple of years ago I saw an HTM cat in which the engine room fire exstinguisher had broken free, it ran a-mock in the engine compartment for an hour or so, smashing amongst other things, the connections onto the hatch lifter motor!, and guess what, no facility to disconnect the ram! , dunno what they did in the end, but I couldn't watch as they tried to prize it open

Hmm I would have thought a man with your engineering capabilities would be able to make a hatch cover that was, if not watertight then at least splashproof!

Very good! but he didn't splash it, he just carried on using my 'disposable' mould. Obviously it was less disposable than I thought, that was 7 years ago.

someone would really have to hate you ( and I can see how people could get to that state) to discount your ability to produce excellent quality stuff.
