A truely massive thankyou to all the organisers and volunteers from everyone onboard Honey Rider for an absolutely awesome day.

My wife Michelle described the day as 'The best days boating she's ever had'.

Thanks also to Skipper, Engineer and in his own words, General dogs body, Steff. For all his help to date. Especially for his maneuvering abilities I can only describe as brilliant.

Thanks to everyone.

When's the next one?

Steve Mac

That's music to our ears Steve. If we can make the wives happy then the world is our oyster - well almost. The answer to your last question is - well I can't do more than one a year, getting too old for it (loved Saturday though and the fast running, simply fantastic but there are a few aches this morning) but I do have a plan!! We need a team to put on more than one a year and I intend to build that team on what we now have. More later.

So glad that everyone came back safe. That will send the doom and gloom merchants into the darkness.

when the other half says i think we should take the boat out again as its a shame to waste a nice day....... that poker rally definately done its job. The lads get a green light to take their boats out? Whats going on there?

Thanks Dave for sitting out at Calshott and your great pics, anymore?. The fleet running past you must have looked amazing. Sorry about Gurnard, the Card Boat was supposed to be there but they went to Gurnard Ledge instead!! Slight hiccup but only a small one.

Hi Mike - if you check your email you will see that Gurnard Ledge Buoy is where you instructed us to go:

"Thanks for helping out. I only have two Card boats so if you can do the 2nd one which will be Gurnard Ledge Buoy, west of Cowes that would help and then after lunch - which is in the Haven at Cowes you go East to Browndown Buoy which is near Stokes Bay."

No matter - was a good day out and well done for organising.

Many thanks to Mike, Vee, all at Drivers and at Cowes and the Card Boats. We had a great day out, following the pack noisily about having pulled the mufflers in the morning

Jeez those dry pipes are loud when you are running fast, by the time we got to Cowes we couldn't stand it any more so I put the mufflers back on after lunch [excellent thanks Vee].

Really enjoyed the afternoon, especially when we got down to the forts where the water suited us much better;- the old girl likes barging her way straight through stuff.

Unfortunately we started to loose fuel pressure on the way back up Southampton water and the EFi pump was making nasty noises so having picked up our last card we turned round and limped back to Hamble at 5 knots.

Unfortunately we couldn't make it for the evening's entertainment, hope you all had a good time.

Put my name down for the next one please!

Thanks for a great day

Thanks to everyone who organised this event, didn't think we were going to make it on Friday, as we had one engine out, which started being put back in at 2.30pm, but by 8.45pm we were ready to go. Nothing like pressure! Thanks to Keith fitting it! Aka sam1cats.
Glad we did as it was a great day out. All of us from Poole area had a great time and would love to do it again even if it was just a 'meet up' and lunch somewhere once a month maybe ?
Thanks again

She chomps along though mate, we were way behind the field when you all set off from calshot, We sat just behind your portside running past Gurnard on our way to Hurst. It sounded great, looked great and appeared to ride very gracefully.

Top stuff

It seems from the feed back that a lot of you would be up for racing at Cowes, but due to the expense of the International Marathon licence it has put you off. I agree, it seems crazy to have to buy/renew a licence for nearly £500, and it also seems mad that some of you who have sea water in your veins cant get a licence because of the qualifying criteria when you can go to Belgium with a CV and get a UIM International licence for 200 euros!

I am going to have a chat with the RYA to see what can be done to get boats on the water for this year as the £60 reduction they are offering is not enough.
That may all be very well Dorian but:
