1.3L Campbell Cat

Well,
Having brought the bloody thing on Ebay I'm now looking at it and thinking will I ever get it on the water?
This was the first of two 1.3L Shakespeare Lorne Campbell cats, the one that sat on the factory roof for about ten years. Actually talking to Frances and Stuart in Cowes they say it was the best one. Its all Kevlar and weighs about 220KG.
So to the bad bits: it need someone with a little laminating experience as its got four holes cut in the bottom of the sponsons to drain out all of the water! Lots of other assorted small holes for piepwork etc and one cracked sponson, easily repaired.
Sat on the floor, no trailer, but easy to load as its so light. Guess I m looking for circa £1K, but open to sensible offers.
Was a very fast little boat and with an Evinrude HO would be great.
Two fairly poor pictures, as it arrived, its all now clean !

P.S. Fuller- don't even think about commenting !!!

I'm sure we could give fixing it up a go if someone wanted it done - kind of stretched on other projects a t the moment for ourselves though!

Wow!!! I've already owned the other one, tried to fall over in the corners with a 2.5 on the back though!

That's so very tempting but the price would be too high once I've paid to get it over here!

He could supply it all he liked, I wouldn't touch anything he's been within a mile of.

1.3L Cat

To answer all of the PM's that I have had:
The boat is just over 21ft long.
It is all Kevlar
It is in Christchurch, Dorset
Viewing pretty much any time
I might have some other bits and bobs for it lying around.
It has bow rails, lifting eyes, step vents.
Wooden spray rails need a coat of varnish.
It is very light indeed, need a really good sand down, a few gell repairs on the deck and a good mopping to bring it back to good.
There are four holes in the bottom of the sponsons, drilled to let rain water out.
The hull appears very sound and was built to be a race boat, quite trick construction with compression strutsetc. I am sure that Lorne could comment more.
Reason for sale: work, Cinzano, etc, etc.
Always on my mobile for those that know me.
Simon.

It's coming to something, when you have to sell a boat to feed a Cinzano addiction.

1.3L Cat

Just taken a deposit from "Paranoid" on this site, so she looks like she may be gone. He's hoping to get her out next year for some basic and maybe 3B racing. Thanks Boatmad !

Having owned one of these, I'm sure he'll be very happy with it

If it were closer to me, I would have bought it in a heartbeat, really miss having a cat
