They did put a DDT on it and can do so again if you wanted to buy it!

Did you know the "X" stands for unknow? depending on who built the "x" engine the badged 300HP can produce anywhere between 320 -345 HP!

Its no longer for sale by the way.

where'd ya hear that from?

thats just roumers, true its around 320 hp but when Eric Simon Dyno'd it he said that it is atchually 300 hp at the prop!

Fact:elarlier 300promax's had around 275 hp
Fact:the later models had the full 300hp

later models had a few different bits on them.. coils, intake was duel choke with 4 butterfly's insted of the elarlier models which only had 2 butterflys,

I have a dyno graph of a newer model 300 promax with nothing but Waynes tuner and it makes around 310 hp.
Eric Simon also says the mad efi tuner adds 5hp on a stock engine , but a 300 with intakes and heads etc, it can make 10+hp,
i doupt that with a change of tuner a engine can make over 10% more hp

there was also a carb version of the 300 promax.all the later models were EFI.
there was a 300 p/m (carb) for sale in IOW some time last year, up for 5200 !
IMO 4k is a bargian! if its got a sporty, be wary about the seal around the propshaft, as the 3.0 sporty has some sort of alloy prop and drive shafts, so when your propshaft rusts around the seal, water gets in and you will have a fekked gearbox!just whip off the prop and take a good look around the shaft, any sign of rust where the seal is, steer well clear or you could find your self with a hefty bill.

Just a small reminder to check the serial numbers of any second hand outboard engines you buy.

You need to determine clear title.

If you buy stolen goods, the original owner can just come get them back, and you loose the engines, the money paid, and possibly get a Police record...
