Anyone for skiing?
My son and daughter are ski guides in Ski Chamois, Morzine and this has been one of the best snow seasons on record. The chalet has a limited number of rooms left between now and 4 April at £300-£350pp, including luxury return coach, breakfast, tea, 3 course dinner and unlimited wine. Ski all day, party every night, right on the slopes and the staff are boaters and waterskiers in the summer. Call Lynne 01302 369006 or www.skichamois.co.uk

Morzine is a great resort, with great skiing and excellent links to Avoriaz. I've had some great holidays there, staying at the Dahu Hotel.

You must have done 'The Swiss Wall' then? 'Fraid I always take the 'wally lift'
It is still dumping it down over there, they've had over a meter of fresh in the last week and apparently today is the best powder of the year. Ski Chamois is at the top of the Nyon cable car so the only way to town after 5pm is ski or by skidoo - they are currently on their third Yamaha since December. It's owned by a great Aussie jet and water skier called Tim. It's a great place for a crowd of racers wanting to enjoy themselves, barbies every day, the Inferno bar in the evening.

No it's a very steep run that used to claim between 4 and 10 lives a year. They took away the skull and crossbones signs and the Attention 'Mort' signs and now there is less KamaKasi entrants and less lives lost. Butcha got to be good, because if you fall there is only one stopping point!
BTW, are you going to be co-driving the Mida at the AYC shakedown? Looks like being a great, long weekend, livers are already twitching at the prospect.

Yeh, been down that a few times, and it can be pretty tricky if the conditions are crap. A lot of the travel guides claim it's for moderate skiers, but I reckon it'd be a bit much for me now! I'm more of a cruiser now I'm in my twilight years.

The wall can be tough when conditions are bad, but when it's icy I have seen some equally dangerous runs - I have seen a few people fall a long way down "Le Face" in Val D'Isere, and that's a run back to town and was the Olympic downhill in '92 - I think they used it again for the Worlds this year and it's steep!
Anyone done the Drunken Frenchman in Winter Park? Very long double diamond black with huge bumps - not dangerous but goes on forever at a ridiculous altitude!
