Scotty your right. Perhaps i should name and shame.
It was a Boatmad member who rang me on friday after emailing me for a couple of weeks and basically begged me to sell them my hull and trailer for £6000 as that was all they had and could pay and that " I wouldn't get messed around like most other people do on boatmad".
I finally agreed on £6k cash and a cheque for £200 post dated for two weeks on the condition it was come pay and collect by 2pm sunday as I go to Afghanstan within the next 24 hrs and my time with my family is precious and I would have to take the boat out of storage and load the boat back onto the trailer as that was going to be sold to another buyer. I cancelled my saturday out got it ready and guess what ......No show and not answering his mobile either. Yes I know he had it with him and on, as it was engaged a number of times. So a very warm felt thanks to "Marc Lamont" alias "Very Tricky" for wasting mine and my families time together. I am sure an elephant sat on your car. I love your comment about other boatmad members i'm sure they will too !

Please don''t bother to darken my door step again.

By the way Marc don't bother threatening to sue me like all the others i am not interested

Unfortuantely its true, Fab Four pm'd me yesterday asking me to call him as he lost my number so i text and cal numerous times and even tried to get him through Denise and Gary. Not even a call to say he'd changed his mind. He knew how valuable my time was. The wife is spitting feathers.

Well, this is simply not true: First off, you PM'd me on the 4th October with the following message:
Quote:
Hi Brian Peedell has called saying you maybe looking for a b23 at the moment. I am selling mine as I am unable to race due to work commitments and i am tasked to deploy next july & august.
My contact number is 07796 137421

Regards Tony
then the message from the 18 October:

Hi sold the engine. still have the trailer although someone interested in it but they haven't come up with the money yet. first to pay has it.
regards Tony

Dont see much begging there..

Finally - the phone calls Friday, You initially agreed £6000, then you phoned back later asking for £6200, and as I had drawn the cash I said you would have to take a post dated cheque for the £200 as I would need to move money around. Then you phoned back later again saying you wanted pickup Saturday and not Sunday as agreed, and I said I would have to change arrangements I had already made, and I would phone you for your address and confirm things before 10pm.

You never answered my phone calls after that - so I had no way to guess where you live!

Then I lost my mobile phone early Saturday morning. Unfortunate - yes, but such is life. I made several attempts to contact you.

I wish it were that simple!

I was not at my house, no mobile phone, no address book and not online. I phoned several friends whos numbers I could remember to try get messages to you. I know you got at least one of them, as you PM'd me in response on Saturday - so you were aware there was a problem!!

No problem at all mate, no problem at all.

-Actually, that was your intention when you posted at 3pm Saturday. your 'SOLD' posting was a setup to your 'name and shame' posting later. This I know, because on recovery of my mobile I have your text messages threatening me at 2:40pm Saturday. Then 20 minutes later you get online and post a 'SOLD' message on Boatmad... Why post a 'SOLD' message on Boatmad when you have already thrown your toys out the cot via text message? Simple, so you can set the stage for the 'name and shame'!

Nice one

It is a pity, I would have liked to have gotten the 3c boat, as Geoff and I have discussed the 3C worlds at some length and decided we should try get a boat ready for this.

All in all an unfortunate set of circumstances prevented me from getting to you on Saturday. Most are probably not your fault, but important things - like answering your phone on Friday night to confirm arrangements and your address as we had agreed would have solved most of the problems!

Having 'named and shamed' me publically on Boatmad, you can forget about me having anything to do with you again. Enjoy the storage fees and depreciation with your boat.

In my not so humble opinion, you deserve it!

Strange that obviously the pm's i have from you are a fake. I never accepted £6K when you rang I said I would think about your offer and call you back as it more than 800 less than I was asking. I did call you 10 mins later and said £6200 (so you must have been to the bank pretty damn quick) and it was a deal if you stuck to your "no messing" and collected to fit in with my plans !
funny how my phone says i tried calling you half a dozen times sat and sun.
I actually replied to fab four (phil) after he said you'd lost my details and told him there was no reply on your phone. and denise manchester and pm'd denise as i know they are friends with you after speaking to a couple of other boatmad members to get in touch with you on saturday,i am sure they can all confirm the facts.Aapparently you are hard to get hold of on your mobile the only contact details any one has that i spoke too. and you didn't bother replying to my txts on saturday either. plain facts are I was happy to sell it to you and didn't waste 4 hours trailering and taking the hull out of storage and putting it back in for no reason !
Pointless arguing !
