back on topic, only last night a read in an old mag (courtesy of TD) an article about a couple of BM members whom were involved in the making of the backdrafts.

they were quoted as saying that when they went over to a B23? they'd done so as with heinsight the Ocke originals were better boats.

so i spose me question is how good are the backdrafts? Carly clearly loves his.......would the 1.3 advertised be a really competitive boat in such a series?

Think you mean the B22.
http://www.ocke.se/motorboats/racing.../more_b22.html

I have heard more than 1 person say the backdraft is a better handling boat.

The backdraft is based on a B-22, so comparison with the B-23 isn't really a fair one. They are a very different boat

And the B22 is a 1.3 boat, the B23 is a 2l boat.
I think chaos is confused.

did the wording "based on" come as an agrrement once they'd been made or was it all done with Ocke's concent from the start?

either way, 60mph in one of them must be real fun.

i'm gonna have to wheeler dealer myself a ride in one somehow!

B-22's were run in 2 litre, and 3 litre in Europe

No the article did say the driver pairing mentioned moved up a class to the B23.........

BUT the all important part was that they conceded genuine mannerfelt boats were better

although this article is old, i think the peeps concerned now there shit.it was Pete Little & partner.....or am i wrong?

maybe i should go to the east wing & get the article!

Yeh, but you can't compare completely different classes of boats.
It's like saying the cabin on your P21 doesn't compare to that of Jon's P28

OK. But it was 'designed' as a 1.3 boat?
