Oh, and the Danish are all mad.
I don´t know about income, my guess is that the interest for this type of boats is limited in the UK, the people who really have big money over there buyes property down south and keeps the boats there and I believe it is mostly cruisers they buy.

The interest here are also limited but none the less boats are popping up here and there. Following BoatMad for a few years and contact with various brokers owners leed me to belive my statement is correct. At least if you consider offshore powerboat pr. Dane vs. offshore powerboat pr. Brit.

The people with really big money live in the south and keep there boats in southern Spain. And yes they are mostly cruisers because they can fly over on friday and live aboard for the weekend or whatever.

I know a lot more Brits would run offshore powerboats if they could afford it!

I guess money's to tight to mention.

Baja is as far as i know owned by Brunswick, who also owns Sea Ray and bayliner to name a few

I was just interested in this comparison because i always found the baja's to be quite well madem and justed wondered how the formula's and foundtains did compare..

If you read my post you will se that I stated that we probably have more of this type of boats here, not one word about racing ! I was reffering to real offshore boats not ribs etc. Now lets see the list.
who said anything about an expert?
and what list are you reffering to talk about having a bad day take a chill-pill.. Our gasprices must be doing somehting to you

just stated that i believe there's loads more powerboats in the uk, non-ribbers, than in DK.. UK has got 10 probably more powerboat builders, DK none.. Just take a look at the UK-classifieds loads more powerboats than in DK..

This site alone can sum up 30-40 boats for a pokerrun while DK on a good day cold get maybe 10-15 together...

Hi Lars,

I cant really comment on Fountains but Formula's are very well put together, a tad heavier than the competition maybe but very strong none the less.

Im not sure that our cousins across the pond rate Baja very highly either.

As an aside, used Donzi's dont make a lot of money in the states compared to others and represent a good buy as long as it surveys ok.

Hmmm heard the Donzi's were quite good/nice seen a couple, but never actually been in one..

As i wrote before, we here in DK don't see that may powerboats not even at the annual shows - best selling boats here are Stingrays and bayliners, sad but true

I thought that even our little 21" ones could classify as an offshore powerboat

This thread is about an offshore powerboat. My guess is that 99% of the boats here do not qualify under this term. They all qualify as powerboats but that is a different thing. A 20 foot bayliner is also a powerboat. If you can run your boat in UIM class 1 or P1 your boat is an Offshore powerboat in my book.

Offshore(meaning that it can in fact run offshore even if the wind is blowing) powerboats in my book is long and narrow maby 30+ feet with a good amount of horsepower(hence the name powerboat) that will keep running even in the rough stuff and is still mostly in 1 piece after such a run. Rough in my book is above 5 feet. look at www.flpowerboat.com and you can get an idea of what an offshore powerboat is(again in my opinion). This is what I mean when I state that Denmark may have more offshore powerboats than the UK.

I am not saying one is better than the other I am just trying to help Lars understand where I come from. I have been in this game a long time and consider myself somewhat knowledgeable about offshore powerboats in Europe.

Just trying to help you understand a little about theese boats.

By the way on a good day we have 30-35 powerboats on a pokerrun and of theese 5-10 will qualify as offshore powerboats(again in my book)

This is how I look at it and if you disagree feel free to comment.
